iPAD

Thinking about getting one  Just wondered if there is a app for Freeview tv?

yes but it will cost you loads to view if you use the 3g network and not wifi, i think an hour streaming uses about 170mb
tvcatchup.com/ipad.html

im getting one, but it will be for games and movies that i download. i use tv catchup on my iphone and its not really worth it, better off with a freeview and cheap screen

I don’t know hwy anyone would buy an ipad over an android tablet  the ipad has 1960’s technology in it’s interface, it’s slower to render than an android, you’re locked to apple and itunes, and probably most important it’s downright boring to use, it has a novelty factor, but that wears off ofter a week, boring, boring, boring ipad. :unamused:
The only positive thing about an ipad (if you really must have one) is that in two weeks the ipad2 is released, meaning that all the stupid muppets that bought an ipad (i was one of them) will upgrade so the market for the original will be flooded, and you’ll be able to pick one up on ebay for pennies.
But if you really want something from the 1960’s go and by a morris minor traveler.

i think the previous post was a little over exajurated but each to there own. and to the post above that, no the ipad wont do it all esp with a tv plug in aerial as it has no usb or input

I suppose it has HDMI mirroring (plug your tablet into your TV and then you have a 52’ tablet) :bulb:
but so does every new Android tablet

Still has no flash support :frowning:
It’s a joke of a device, totally outdated :exclamation:

Why don’t you buy a ‘cheap’ Tablet and a USB stick. Put loads of Movies etc on the USB stick and watch them on the Tablet? Far cheaper than an iPad and much more versatile.

so the basis of your “60s technology” argument is the fact that it has no flash support. or am i right and you were a bit over the top.
i am very fair when it comes to technology. and yes the ipad is nowere near perfect. but its a solid performer that does the same as most of the other tablets. some may have a party trick or two but very few can compare with all of its features, such as battery life, app availability and of course support.

There is far more software for windows out there than apps for an ipads, and also the software and hardware on a laptop can easily be fixed at home as it is all open to everyone unlike apples software and hardware.

that is agreed, linux even better still, the difference being windows tends to eat itself on a regular occurence with the like likes of win.ini and win.krl monstering itself. ios tends to just work. i think the whole matter is like debating which football team is better the argument cannot be won. everyone has a favourite. lets just leave it to the sales figures
