invertors??

whic one would you choose or is it dependant on 12v or 24v output for cig sockets in the truck?

im not bothered on hearing volts ad amps and all that as i dont undertsand the jargon, just like to know which is the best brand, wattage ouput size and what invertor size would charge a phone and laptop and a cooler during the day?

thanks

I would go 300 watt & 24 volt if you have 24 volt socket.
I used the above to run the stuff you list without issue.

What about boiling a 240
Kettle a 240 microwave and an Xbox. What size inverter would I need?

For the micro wave you would have to check the plate for max current draw, will be mor than the output power.
You may need a 2000 watt inverter and will need to be hard wired.

is it just me that’s waiting on the .what does hardwired mean??

Connected straight to the batteries

duh…I was assuming you might have seen the satire in my post but there you go…woosh…

Hmmm, penny just landed

so a 300w 12v would suffice for laptop and phone etc?

they have to be pulling your leg here…

Iv often thought of buying one of these inventors and put my dolce gusto coffe machine in my cab to save me shelling out for a Costa coffee all the time:) but I dont think the missus will be too happy if I take the coffee machine away and I feel it would need to be hard wired to support such a device■■?

I thought the same nespresso machine in the cab, think il start with a24v 300w from maplins tomorrow

Will it work though? Might need to check the voltage of the machine u want to use I might be wrong but it might be too powerfull to use an invertor wired to cigarette socket…

Quite correct, inverters are large lumps to carry but the actual amps they supply is very low. It’s not the voltage your worried about its the amps!

A standard 300w will only supply around 1.3A - generally enough for tv, dvd, small laptops etc.

Coffee machine, kettle - no way! Even small ones are around 7-8amps

Though I wish could as go through a lot of coffee when travelling

i didnt mean actually taking one but the thought did cross my mind lol id do with boiling a pan of water or stopping for one somewhere

I did! I’d love to have a way to making a cuppa if in break somewhere. Used to have one of those one cup heater things you put into a lighter socket and dipped in the cup like an element. Worked but by time heated it up would need two 45 breaks.

Always like to have something to drink when driving about, water now but every so often a coffees nice but buying them soon adds up. Way I go through caffeine I’d carry more thermos flasks than load!

id love my espresso machine but the way it effects me is id have to stop every half hour for relief as caffeine has that effect on me!

Good old fashioned Gaz Stove & an Aluminium Kettle, get the gas from The Range (think its £1.29 & will probably do at least 20 cups, never actually counted) takes about 2 minutes to heat up enough water for a big cup of coffee.
Great for ‘Cordon Bleu’ Pot Noodles, Cup a Soups & Tinned Irish Stew type dinners as well. I’m too tight to keep paying for Expensive Coffee from our RIP OFF service stations.

It does help if you’ve got your own/company wagon & not cab hopping. Use the night heater to heat your home made Bangers n Mash up & a bottle of water for washing in, if your stuck in the middle of nowhere.

If the boss won’t provide a fridge, use the Air Con for an hour before you stop, to chill the Wine or Cider down.

Who needs an inverter ?
