inverter help.

Hey,
i bought this invertor in Germany a few years back but never put it to use, its a 12v Dc - Ac invertor 300W. ill be using it to charge my tablet , phone and kettle ect.

With it been 12v my guess would be that, I need to get a volatage dropper 24 - 12v ? ive seen this on ebay would this be what i need?

Would the invertor fit my needs?

many thanks ,
Stracks

It won’t power a kettle

It won’t power a kettle, and it’s 12v, so it goes in a 12v socket, buying a dropper is futile, you will be assimilated, buy a decent 24v invereter, or plug it in a 12v socket, but don’t plug in stupid things like kettles and microwaves, just use it to power and charge, phones, tablets or, I have powered a tv from a 300 watt, but but it’s true, the bigger the better.

hope this helps

If you want to power a kettle something big, 1500w and wired direct to battery/Anderson lead, if you get a 24v kettle (takes a little longer but still works) you can use a 150/300w inverter all say long, plug straight into cig lighter socket, Maplins stock them…and 24v kettles

Looks like I’m going be spending 100quid plus for invertor.
Dam 24 v accessories are expensive too !

You shouldn’t be, can get a 300w inverter for £40 and a 24v kettle for £20ish

A £20 24V kettle is a load of crap you much better getting a 1500W inverter wired direct to the batteries.
Can’t your gaffer get you one? if your keeping your truck for x amount of years

Why are they crap? Granted they take longer than normal kettles, but it’s plug and play saves messing around with big inverters.

I have a gas stove and kettle aswell, I use both, but in a morning tend to stick 24v on and by time I’ve done walk round it’s boiling.

Different strokes for different folks

I start tomorrow I’ll check to see if anything is fitted, the boss said on the interview though if my wagging does not have any work then he will put me in another wagon for the day so ice got guaranteed work
