Hi folks
I know this has been done to death but has anyone got a good recommendation on a 2000w inverter for a microwave?
Don’t know wether to go for a cheap chinese one of ebay or a more expensive pure sinewave one
Don’t mind spending the money but don’t want to be paying over the odds when a £150 one will do the job every bit as well
wouldn’t an inverter that size require about 80 amps on 24volt.
would you not inline fuse that with about 20amp fuse?
Make sure it’s a pure sine wave inverter as the other type will just keep blowing the internal fuses.
i intend wiring it directly to batteries via anderson plug, with a inline fuse so it won’t affect the internal fuses so i don’t think i should have any issues with that.
I bought a Durite 1500w 24v inverter from eBay, cost me £80 and a Daewoo QT1 600w microwave cost £49 from Asda direct and both work perfectly, wire it direct to batteries via Anderson plug.

That must have been an auction or a clearance sale as I’d consider Durite a quality make. To be honest the cheap chinese and the established brand stuff is converging in quality, one gets better, the other gets worse.
The main difference in price is buying from somewhere with a bricks and mortar outlet so you can take it back and plonk it on the counter if it packs up in less than 12 months rather than online where customer service can be mixed to say the least.
Has anyone tried the £150 ones off ebay?
