Inverness bridge strike

Trains don’t like going up hills, we cant make the rail bridges higher, but we could excavate the roads under the bridges . This would result in more clearance so that the numpties could go crash some where else.

I’m surprised that line of traffic is allowed to come round, and there’s not a half mile exclusion zone around the bridge with fully hi-vizzed wombles whose H&S poisoning is getting the better of them on every corner.

I filled up with diesel at Durham services last night only to watch with utter astonishment, some mush in a Scania come chugging in with a double decker which then went BOOOOOOOM against the canopy. The “4m clearance” signs could not be clearer if they had naked dancing girls on top of them. Cashier woman said, oh yeah it gets hit once a week.

I was at Durham other week and noticed there hgv canopy is a bit on the low side.
It’s on hgv pumps so why not make it 17ft heigh then will never get damaged. Or is that to much like common sense

It would make even more common sense if the canopies were marked up in English as well as metric.
For example 4m means ■■■■ all to me so I’d have to give it a miss anyway, but I understand feet’ and inches".

You should learn to convert to imperial measurements like us other old gits, failing that there are plenty conversion tables. No excuses.

Roll on Brexit, 16 feet 6 inches is the way to go.

Wheel Nut:
Ban Double Deckers

Let Specsavers advertise on bridges.

Or instead of “Warning hand brake not applied” how about “You are about to hit a ■■■■■■ bridge!”. Of course we’d need beacons for that.

A mandatory 12 months ban would do for starters.

I don’t get it that as soon as you see a bridge you should think “■■■■■ what’s the height of my trailer?” Not hard. A quick check on the height adjuster (which as good boys and girls you have adjusted when you coupled up/set off. )

Don’t see many cliff walkers saying “hey I’ll just go over…heaaaaaaaar”. And walk over the edge. :open_mouth:
