Hello all,
Right I’ve had many interviews in the past for a number of jobs and know the crack, but i haven’t had one for a driving job. What sort of questions do they ask you in a interview for a driving job?.
This is for Class 2

Brush up on your driving hours and geography / road network before you go and you’ll be fine.
Good luck.
I better get some research in
It won’t be too much. Just make sure you have a good idea of taco hours (I got stung once at an interview when I was starting out in trucking) and make sure you bring your driving licence etc. as he will probably take a photocopy of your paperwork. He will ask about your previous truck jobs if you have any.
I have always found interviews for truck work very relaxed so make sure and talk!
Best of luck let us know how you get on ……
Can you drive?

Can you start right now? And can you get a bloody move on, because that load is running late?
The truck can only do 52mph boss, give me a magnet and i will go quicker

+1, expect them to want you to start asap. Knowing your hours well is a good one as your bound to be asked something on it. I’ve always brought enough kit with me so i could do a days work with them straight away, so bring your boots, gloves, hi-viz, maps etc. When i get to the yard i always make sure im carry a clean/new hi-viz at all time, imo it makes you look like your taking things seriously. Dont get dressed up in a suit, wear smart casual clothes. Bring all your cards etc with you, plus anything else like forklift ticket.
most interviews iv had with truck companys has just been to see what sort of character you are and produce license then end in how fast can you start or how much notice you need
Let’s hope i get a job interview then. Thanks for the information guys. I know it’s a stupid question but i feel a job interview for driving is totally different to any other job
COME ON PHONE, BLOODY RING!

Dont be affard to ask them questions, e.g do you get you own unit, how many nights out etc… No point in starting with them if they cant offer what you want, you mite feel awkard asking but it is important.
Ask about a pension - it makes you look as if you are long term.
