Smart casual but take work gear in boot of car in case it gets practical

As the last few times I have gone for interviews I have already been in employment I just turn up in my work clothes as its normally straight after work or during. Shows your employable, always easier getting jobs when you already have one.

I’m always suited and booted for any interview but take work gear incase I’m asked to do any driving/assessments.

Trousers,shirt and hi-viz.

I would be like Maga the interview is a business meeting,so be the business. No harm in having work gear in the back of the car though.

Clowns Outfit !

Judging by some of the Funny Clowns driving Artics these days.
(If it’s 50 in the narrow lane roadworks, why have I got ‘Clowns’ coming past me, like I’m stood still ? Even though I’m doing 50 on the sat nav & 81 on the Tacho)

Because they are ■■■■■■■ idiots that’s why?really ■■■■ me off because as soon as their unit is past the start wobbling all over the shop and you have nowhere to go.
Always the odd few who have to be the hero!

+1. I go job hunting in a shirt & tie.

Smart casual and clean washed and shaven.
Don’t use strong aftershaves of mints, its horrible to have to talk to somebody who smells like a perfume shop or a toilet cleaner.
Have your PPE in the boot of your car or in your bag.
Your a driver not applying for the job of Managing Director, so no need to be in a suit, but clean shirt (preferably not an “hurt your eyes” Hawaiian shirt) clean trousers and polished shoes, show respect for the company and the person who interviews you.
The first impression counts the most, and you have only one chance of a first impression!

I usually find a short skirt and a flash of stockingtop is enough to seal the deal

Yes yes and yes
wear clothes for interveiws

not the best way to turn up :grimacing:

Suit on the basis that for my first interview for a drivers job (remember Heron Distribution) I wore a suit, and the interviewer said I was the only person that had made an effort. Still didn’t get the job though due to lack of experience, although I did get taken on a few months later (by Heron)

Mankini & flip flops.
Good luck with the interview.

Smart casual every time for me, jeans, shoes, shirt and a light coat.
Never let me down and never got any strange looks

use Stobart Uniform

Generally wear my normal work attire - black open collar shirt, work trousers and black work shoes. As others have said keep hi viz etc handy as well

best person I had turn up for a job interview was a driver
with one black boot and one brown boot when I asked him why he said to get your attention and it worked

I’ve worn new black work trousers (dickies), new black polo shirt, and new work boots to my last three interviews. I’ve had with me in a bag a new hi-vis vest and work gloves.

Explained to the interviewer that I’ve come prepared for a driving/coupling-up assessment.

Been offered a job at each of the three interviews I attended, so this approach has worked well for me. Good luck with it.
