Interveiw for wincanton **UPDATE**

ive been watching this thread and believe you could turn up in mankini and flip flops as long as you had a license the jobs yours.

forget the shirt and tie, its a job driving a lorry not an office job.   :unamused:

the job is a doddle lots of argos work and inter depot shunts i.e… you will a lot of shunts between southampton and newbury. like at felixstowe we do alot of shunts between felixstowe and alconbury. if you tramping you should be taking home about £450ish a week. you will be able to choose if you want weekend work there is no pressure for friday nights out. you will get a top ssc or xl man something similar.

i work for wincanton on containers , but at alconbury depot, ok the wages are not that great, but its a job! i must admit though i never had such a easy job, home every night, never pushing my driving hours and never on your back chasing you!

I don’t think a mankini would be a good idea especialy with a gorgeous body like mine :astonished:

I went up to newbury with my missus today for a bit of a day out and to make sure i knew where there depot was(Don;t think it would set a impression if i got lost or was late for driving interview  ), For some reason i thought that it would be a distribution centre. I didn;t realise it was a depot for containers and a fair few at that?

Well the job i’m going for and hoping for is the tramping job cos that is what i was doing with my previous company. Would be great to have an MAN again, cos got all my gear from my previous truck before it was reposessed :open_mouth: . For some reason tho i thought i might of been getting a renault premium :frowning: see a few of them pulling containers out of southampton aswell as a few volvos and mercs.

What kinda thing am i to expect if i get asked back for a driving assesment seeing as i have never had to do any kind of assesment let alone an interview.

Just to update everyone, I had my interview today, and it went really well. I went in shirt and trousers and nicely polished shoes, and i’m glad i did because everyone in the office were well presented and the chap onterviewing me was in shirt and tie, was told that i had passed the interview stage and as long as the assement drive went ok on thursday that i will be inducted friday and start monday  .
The only catch is that they don;t have anymore tramping vaccancies, which peed me off a bit as that is what i applied for, but the have postions on days and nights and the chap said that when i got settled into the company i could put my name down for any vaccacies that arise on tramping. (to be honest the money seems better on days and nights anyway). i will keep everyone informed of my progress on thursday.

WelL Done fella i had my interview sat and passed so assesment planed for later in the week everything crossed this end good luck mate

Just a bit dissapointed about it not being tramping but a job is a job, and the money seems to be better on days, but it’s a foot in the door hopefully

Nothing wrong with a Renault Premium…

No news is good news !

i spoke to him saturday and he didnt go for the assessment because he got a call from Boarhunt haulage on thursday was interviewed and offered the job and was having his induction on mon.8th,(yesterday).
So all worked out well for him.

Good news pass on my congrats to him

Cheers guys, sorry haven’t been on had problems with my laptop.
I didn’t bother with wincanton in the end cos as gramps has sad i got a call from Boarhunt and i have started for them on the OOCL contract, It was a better deal for me on oarhunt then on wincanton, and also the chap from wincanton told me at the interview that he would contact me to confrim the assesment details on the wendesday (the day after the interview), but he didn’t contact till yesterday  , so i couldn’t risk just waiting on a call.

Nice one mate ,hope you get on ok and enjoy the job. :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
