can any one help on this one?
My old man is retiring in a few months as he’s our TM and i have only a national cpc.the problem is i will have no one with a international cpc.
Can i employ a international cpc holder or use a owner driver as a part time TM.
In reality we would only need a their name.
Is this legal? and what would i be sort of money would i have to pay them for their services
If you have a few months, why don’t you sit your international cpc.
hi bob
looked into that one.next test is september then you have to wait 3 months for results and as i took my cpc about 20 years ago i now have to take both tests as the rules have changed since 2004.The traffic office will not give me the time needed as have been told to get new Tm within 6 weeks from the time my dad leaves.
Is it easier running the hole thing from France or is the red tape tighter?
I knew they had changed the exams but I didn’t know you had to sit the whole lot to upgrade, which is a shame because like you I took mine about 20yrs. ago and glad I did now. bob
never took my international because i thought i would be out of transport at 40.do you know were i can find some info about starting up in France
in reply to the original question, yes you can use someone elses cpc by employing them as a tm, four hours a week for one wagon and on it goes, you and the employee have to fill out an employment contract supplied by vosa so depends on how many wagons you run to wether it’s worth doing or not, you could always set the date for change after you get the results.
Itson, I know someone good and reliable and an ex Intl TM with a lot of experience who has an intl CPC and would probably be willing to do it for you.
PM me if you’re interested and I’ll make a phone call…
Itsons, i am not 100% sure but when everybody started registering their trucks abroad didn’t France insist on a large % of the workforce being french thats why they all went to Holland. If a lot of your work is to France could not ask your customers what you would need to do to set up in France.
bob
You’re taking the ■■■■ are’nt you, setting up in France, sorry mate that is one of the most mad things I have ever seen posted on this forum.Ever thought that the french may need a TM(international)paper work in french, sorry but if you ever want a reason or three why not to start up in France pm me…
Hey Froggy whats wrong with the French?i might have been born here but my dear ma and par are born and breed in France(La Rochelle).About 80%of my customers are in France it makes sence to move there. Most weekends are spent sitting in laybys on Rn10 drinking cheap french wine and eating good food, anyway it was just a thought about moving.
Nowt wrong with cheap wine and good food(mc do,s was it) .Ask the folks about the founctionaries(?) in France, they love the paper work and then some,I was going to setup a small haulage company in france just for something to do part time, along the line of if I fancied the job I would take it etc etc, what I would have to pay put even if I was not earnning made it a joke,as for working for a french company well the first time I got a french "wage slip"I thought it was a copy of war and peace,oh and do ask the folks also about cositations that have to be paid for each member of staff(french),it will make your eyes water.
Maybe you have a valid reason why you can’t, but it seems the obvious solution is to keep your Dad on a retainer as consultant Int. CPC holder.
Unless you have a very large fleet, its a very part time job. He’s the perfect one as he already knows your company’s business, which drivers may need more regular tacho checks, etc.
Due to ill health my father cant stay on plus he’s moving back to France. At the moment we have 3 lgv (but moving down to 2)and 4x 3.5t sprinter vans.Taco’s are checked by outside company, lorries are on r+m contract and am the accountant come driver
