hi
i wonder if theres any drivers out there who worked for Interlink out of Hartlebury Worcs,
i was there around 1989 -93 , we used to Trunk to every corner of the uk in the days when you could do more than 56mph, good job too or we wouldnt of made it !
the fleet consisted at that time of mainly Mercedes powerliners , a few Leyland Daf 95’s and Mercedes box vans 1617’s all with tail lifts ,The arctics mainly had 40ft swan neck trailers , Dodds of London used to sub contract as well , The drivers slept in the cabs all week and the poor mates used to sleep in the trailers ! imagine that being allowed now !
Shunting was done around the hub with a Ford Transcontinental . With Hatlebury plant and motors doing all the repairs and servicing.
would be great to see any photos of those days .
also just remembered Parker Haulage out of Acton ■■ used to contract to Interlink aswell , doing the Scottish Runs and most of London.
Jake42 - Heres the first 1635 powerliner interlink had D400 LBO, I had just been up to boalloy at congelton to pick up one of the first batch of step frames interlink had. Pat wigley was allocated the truck when it went into service. Cheers swinman.
