the insulation was already in the truck before i started the revamp, and yes, it is normal loft insulation, but it works a treat

there have been a couple of bits that are now done, but not enough to show yet.

the latest update, iโ€™m sure Globby480 will love

it broke down today, the Viscous Fan destroyed itself coming down the M1 at lunchtime

in a pee taking sence only hanky spanky, not funny when any of our members brake down, but on a pee taking note
yes CPT CHUBBS was going past tibshelf and you will never guess what he was on the phone speaking to me as he went past OOOOOOOH hanky, hanky spanky, of all the places to brake down and one of my mates was passing keep telling ya there can only be ONE!! SCANIA,
CPT CHUBBS SAID THERE IS A BIG BLUE THING BROKE DOWN at tibshelf โ€ฆooooh is it the rosey and jim boat on truck wheels what may have been washed a shore with all the rain i said, , your saving grase tho is the wrecker wasnt a scania :imp: :imp: or you would really have to put them hands up then dammm that spoilt my day, tell ya hanky ya need a misters motor a BIG,BIG, SCANIA,
on a serious note tho hope u have it sorted now tho,

was the viscous fan coupling, the bearing siezed and launched the fan into the radiator

luckily, it didnโ€™t damage the radiator to any extent, just superficial damage.

the parts supplier told me they would have the parts in by 10:00 this morning and they would priority deliver them to me, they arrived at my office at 14:00 :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

but, the main thing is, it is now up and running again

oh, yes, i did see Cpt Chubbs go northbound on the M1, a bit distinctive his truck  and i didnโ€™t think it would be long before you got in here      this is why i got in first a couple of posts up^^^^^^^^^^^^

mind you, i did manage to wind up the HATO when they eventually turned up, they asked if i was ok, i said yeah, just having a 45 minute break

one of them looked at the very large blue sign just infront of me saying โ€œTibshelf Services 1/2 Mileโ€

and yes, i was VERY VERY VERY greatful that it was not a scania that came to recover me, it was a 2000 on a W reg XF 480 that had been stretched from a 6x2 tractor unit into an 8x4 recovery truck.

i took a couple of pics this morning of the offending part after it had self destructed, will put them up later

yer i heard alix was speaking to me today about the hmso and you,
dont run with a laptop in the cab so you was safe   cause if i had hanky you know i would have bet you on here with it ooooh it would have made my day " not is a bad way mind" but anything for the micky on em kettle boiling racers i am there

one thing hanky the insulation you have or they have used?? it will all work down to the bottom of the cab before long as rock wool has the habit of shaking itself apart in time and then it becomes a little soggy and starts to rot the inside of the panels, but as long as your bilge pump is working   ok on the rosey and jim barge you may not have to many probs of capsising with taking to much water on board    , prob a piece of usless info for you there ewgarding rockwool

Found this today

i thought i recognised that photo, its mine!! if i remember i read on here the bloke that had it then, got nicked for running bent, it doesnt surprise me, every time i saw that truck it was sitting at at least 60mph, and its got a tendancy to stand out on a road of trucks doing 56.

Nice DAF,i think it lookโ€™s better without the skirtโ€™s.Well done.

that picture was taken before i owned it

ellies dad, the side skirt is not fitted as i have not had the chance to get one made to match the original yet, there will be one fitted to it again, there is one already on the drivers side, but the nearside got smashed before i got the truck :sunglasses:

If it was me iโ€™d take the single skirt off and leave it offโ€ฆnice machine either way.
