so the only thing renault manage to do was to give it less storage space and a more rubbish underpowered engine?..

This is the point I was struggling with my interpreting skills, as I am not sure if such organisations were ever exists in Western world.
As the Polish farmers weren’t too kin to join state owned farms (like Kholkhoz in USSR),they were organised in “Cooperatives of the Indenpendent Farmers Circles” - that’s the closest I can come with translation.This organizations were not only cooperatives like you know here, but they were also offering technical help and advice and machine hire to the individual farmers.

I doubt that there is any worse “rubbish underpowered engine” than the bottom-valve Å»uk one
