Interesting commercial activity at an MSA

I didn’t think that Services could be used by training companies , I wonder if they are paying for parking of all those bays they are using ?

When I was learning I did my reversing exercises on Bolton services. Think they stopped the training company using them when they got a refurb through

I’d chuck the cones out of the way. No different to people coning off space in laybys so firms can leave trailers behind.

Yep red rose, they used to rent a corner of the front car park, roughly where the fuel pumps are now

Red Rose? My mate trained with them & he said that they paid to use a certain section!

Not the best environment to train in when your a newbie, in front of an audience of sniggering drivers on their 45s.

I know about Red Rose using Bolton services, but it was like a morg on there before the refurb.

Was also massive too, unlike Heston!

Couldn’t care less where they train but if I was just settling down after a day’s work I’d be having words about the reversing bleeper.

If I was parked there while doing night work and trying to sleep during the day it’d ■■■■ me off something rotten.

Also, parking spaces are limited as it is, putting cones out over 3-4 spaces isn’t a great idea. If I pulled in for a break and they were the only spaces left I’d kick them out of the way. Out of order and generally pretty selfish.

OMG he looks loads of fun at parties.

You’re on your 45 trying to relax and you’ve got a learner driver ■■■■■■■ about in front of you. Fearing for your mirrors and what not!

You know what services can be like one minute empty next minute heaving and you can’t get parked up cos there is bloody cones everywhere!

Away go and find a bit of spare ground somewhere more suitable. Bet the training schools that invest in good premises with space to teach manoveres get ■■■■■■ off with this cowboy outfit.

Think that breaks the rules on motorway service areas in the definition of.

They must not be a place of destination ie going there for any reason apart from resting from your journey.

…Could be worse. They could be scousers doing “Fridge Practice”… :smiling_imp:

The magnificent seven golden rules of MSA parking.

(1) How to switch your fridge on at the most inopportune time… 2am-5am is a must.
(2) How to leave your fridge on so that the little plastic cover is superglued down, so bystanders can’t knacker your ice cream on back…
(3) Remembering to set with the minus sign, so you don’t end up with a oven full of butter slop when you get to your destination tomorrow
(4) Teaching over drivers how to correctly understand and pronounce Ay? Ay? when anyone confronts you.
(5) Setting the clock alarm to 1:50m later so you can get the full 2 hours in without having to pay
(6) Learning how to blind side reverse properly, so you can occupy that very last MSA bay that no one else is skillful enough to get into
(7) Parking at such an angle that alongside your trailer is dark enough so you can take a ■■■■ up your wheels without the footage ending up on Youtube

With reversing like that I hope it’s his first lesson…

That was the instructor showing the trainee how it’s done!

Spot on, although he has done well swapping his Polish accent for an extremely dull accountants one.
