Insurance

Probably a simple question but, If your pulling someone else’s trailer i.e. traction only do you need to insure their trailer on your policy as in if you write it off or it’s fridge blows up while your using it or does the owner insure his trailer regardless if his own vehicles or a subbie is using it? Only if your sure please.

If you are working on a Traction-only basis then yes, I’m afraid you do need both Vehicle and GIT for any trailer you may pull.

As for fridge-units, I suspect that would be covered by whoever does the owner’s R+M, provided you are not at fault.

Sorry! :grimacing:

Thx Lucy, Fridge trailer = £60,000 :open_mouth: Hope your back gets better soon!

I have to insure the trailers I pull on a traction only basis. This insurance has to cover the trailers for anything from damage, theft or Total loss (Write offs)
Cover has to be suficent to replace the said trailers, so for a fridge at £60K would need the relevant cover. Speak to the company whose kit you pull, they are the only ones to know what cover they require.
