it was my mate r slicker that told me about him, he was there at the time
that would be taff your talking about he’s been selling insurance on there for as long as i can remember and i’ve been on the road for 33 years.he carries a big book with him with all the drivers names and who they worked for going back to when adam was a lad and yes im in there as i once had cover off him
Brian Scammel IIRC. I had cover from him as well. Its not bad but only pays out for nights spent in hospital and not at home on sick.
there was a guy flogging insurance in 1977 on Toddy services, surely it’s not the same one ■■?

Told me he’s been there 37 years.
I was approached on Corley services on the M6 more years ago than I care to remember; I turned insurance cover down, and it was sod’s law that the very next day I fell in Sheffield and broke my leg! That’s life, eh.

It is.
I hope this helps.

Thing is - with a broken leg you might spend one or two nights in hospital and then 6 weeks off work. Insurance not a lot of use there.
In my opinion most insurance is a waste of money.
Instead of insurance I just bough myself a defibrillator, it’s paid for itself many times over.
I hope this helps.

10 weeks? Ouch!
I bought some insurance from this bloke, an absolute bargain it was and then ten minutes later I had another great deal, I bought a lovely leather jacket from some Italian geezer on his way back from some fashion show or something.
Mind you, I’ve always thought of MSA’s as being the place to grab a bargain.

Not just people Pat, the same person.
IIRC he sells it to the police as well, at least he said he did in his patter!
I bought a leather coat on a services one time in Italy. Genuine leather it was, even stood up to having a flame run over it by the “salesman”. Lmao!
