Hi anyone got a 2011 2. Cdti sri insignia.if so what are they like for reliability and fuel useage
Absolutely dreadful when running at 44 tonne.
i bought one 2 yrs ago, kept it for 3 weeks and sold it, without doubt the worst car i have ever owned, mpg was fine but it rattled everywhere, there was a shake through the floor at 70mph and the ride was far too harsh, the 9yr old vectra i traded in for it was 100% better
Thanks guys
I got one as a courtesy car for 4 weeks whilst my mondeo 1.8 tdci was being repaired following accident damage, it was without doubt the worst car I had ever had the displeasure of driving.
MPG was crap, Ride was awful and everything was just cheap and plastic
Same sort of cost, go for the new shape mondeo - Titanium or Titanium X, very nice cars
Ill dodge this one then
No, but I’ve got a 2013 Astra with the 2.0 cdti. Been on a decent drive this holiday weekend and according to the fuel computer, I averaged 61mpg. Only used 17 ltrs of fuel over 230 miles. Quite impressed with that. I do tend to drive like Miss Daisy though so not sure what it would be like with a lead boot on the gas pedal. Insignia is obviously a bit of a heavier car so might not be as good on fuel as the Astra is.
Reliability its been fine, though I’ve only had it since early January. But if its anything like all of my previous Vauxhalls, I’m not worried one bit.
Insignia will use fuel like a Scania, it eats tyres and brakes like no ones business and if you can find one without front and rear damage your lucky as you can’t judge the ends of the car.
swerve it, jellopy
So the general feeling is the gash lol
Vauxhall translates to a shower of zb in my mind, never again:!:
Ive got a golf se ,thats not bad
I was going to say i may just go for a golf tdi,the insignia is cancelled
After getting in to a diesel rental after a 3.2 I did wonder if the accelerator pedal was broken. Seemed vanilla enough but I don’t know what they’re like to run regular,
I am just about to trade my insignia 2.0 CDTI 160bhp in, I have had it 3 years it has covered 55k and has only had brake pads and tyres.
It returns 45-48 mpg all day everyday, 55-65 mpg on a motorway drive. It’s remapped to 210bhp yes they are sore on tyres specially the front ones. The horsepower and torque don’t help along with the engine weight.
As far as unreliable is concerned you have the wrong car, a local taxi company have 15 of them and replaces the old for new. There’s a few he has with 135k + miles and they are no more unreliable then your German marques. Actually they are more reliable if you believe the AA and what car.

Might have been a petrol actually, think the diesels are torquey enough with the turbo.
I’d have one, they just ain’t ■■■■ though are they?Jjust your common all garden mondeo chariot.
Get yourself a mazda6 2.2 diesel, nice size, nice comfortable drive and economical to boot. I’m on my third and apart from servicing they’ve been the most reliable cars I’ve owned.
