Hi guys, I got an injury today at work and am looking for an advice.
So here it goes, this morning I came of the A303 on to the A37 heading towards Yeovil I wanted to wee, so I stopped in the second lay by(where the burger van is usually parked) on the right hand side, as I got out of the cab I stepped of the tarmac and feel in to a hole about 1.7 meters deep I badly twisted my ankle and bruised my hamstring.
So the question is, should I phone up the local council and let them know that there is hole in the ground or just leave it be?
It was around 6am in the morning and I couldn’t pitch dark, hopefully nobody else wont fall in to it.
The county council are more likely to be the ones to contact.
I would certainly speak to someone and voice your concerns/complaint, you may be lucky and could be in line for some sort of financial compensation.
waynedl:
Serves your right, people will be eating there.
If you know that layby normally has a food place, why ■■■■ in it, go to the next one.
Hope it bloody hurts
Don’t confuse a lack of toilet facilities with a lack of people needing to go to the toilet. Given the weather in the past few days the rain will soon wash most of the urine away, if it has flowed into a gulley even more so. A hole that deep could be a drain gulley where the grid has been pinched for scrap, been a fair bit of that lately.
Need to report the hazard to highways be it county council if only to give them a chance to fix the problem. Hope the OPs injuries heal quickly.
