Initial CPC

I read a post recently about a driver who passed on 17th sept 2009 and subsequently wasn’t licensed for cat C as he’d not done his cpc.

Can someone put in simple terms what modules must be taken for someone who passed C/C+E after sept 09, and timescales.

We have a driver at our place who seems to have fallen into this trap, and management are not aware as his license says he’s got the entitlement, not too much of a problem atm as he only drives the vans or 7.5 tonner. I believe he’s done modules; 1 (theory) and 3 (practical).

If he held the 7.5t licence in Sept 09 he is ok until Sept 2014 by which time he must have done the 35 hours periodic cpc. If not he must pass Mod 2 & 4 initial CPC texts

Thanks, that makes sense as he passed car before '97, so has the C1.

New drivers who acquire a PCV vocational entitlement (D1, D1+E, D, D+E licence) after the 10th September 2008 and/or an LGV vocational entitlement (C1, C1+E,C or C+E licence) after the 10th September 2009 will have to obtain the Initial Qualification in addition to their licence to drive professionally.

Although the dates are very close, someone hasn’t read the information properly, as John said, he already has the C1 licence so his Periodic DCPC is valid until the 9th September 2014
