Right, I asked the guy who works on these. All in all, a very good truck. The’re only downside can be electrics as everthing on them is “electronic” and has to be cleared by ‘das’. Thats only a minor niggle though. Like i thought, his words on 600’000 K were, “its just run-in”. Engines are bomb proof and the running gear is also very good. Even a head gasket is only about a 4 hour job as they use indivdual heads. Brake calipers are a piece of pis as they share the same slider kits and pads as alot of trailers and other units and are fairly generic. All in all, a good truck.

Ta, but the euro 3 thing is the killer, seems you can’t give a euro 3 away at the moment. I have to have euro 4 at the very least.

i looked in these trucks when i replaced my 05 plate XF, for the age of them, they were very rough in a driver abuse kind of way
as for haggling, if you ask them, they will tell you the best price they can sell it for, i would imagine they would knock about £1500 off at the most

harry i am fantastic at haggling, its a shame you are too far away. i would be looking to start negotiating at 18k.

there is someone on here who drove for Funstons, he was here for a while asking about euro work, i think he now drives for SJ Pierce, im sure someone here will remember who he is. Maybe a pm to him can help.
