From my experience, the only restrictions I can recall were on particular stretches of road - termed as tourist routes - although nobody appeared to be taking any notice. If you can wait until tomorrow, when i’ll be in the office, i’ll consult our oracle and post my findings. It’s possible that there may have been changes since my last visit earlier in the year. I’m actually off to Bucharest myself next week, although this won’t involve weekend running, as i’m not leaving until the following Monday.
Hi gb1 many thanks await your reply and thank you to Brit pete, We are running on the Saturday but not on Sunday however Teleroute gives a driving ban on both days ? interesting about holiday routes ! forgot about them !

never have I seen a ban in Romania except the one that is in force when the temperature is above 35 degrees. last time there was one of those, I didn’t really have the time to stop and enjoy the scenery, nobody stopped me anyway.
Consulted the Oracle today, and in fact, most of Romania has weekend driving bans. However, as Milodon says, and I can agree, I’ve never seen any evidence of it being enforced, and personally, I wouldn’t hesitate to run.
