Hi i am hoping some can help me find out some info on an erf my brother purchased in 2006 from zippo circus, we can see from old sticker marks that it was once a wincanton lorry.
At one of our shows someone told us it was a wincanton tanker and had the name ajax, we have not been able to verify this so we would really appriciate any info or pictures people may have from its life at wincanton transport.
The lorry has the reg F904FYB

I may be wrong, but is there any way of finding if this was painted originally orange and white in Unigate livery?

The reg and header board seems familiar and if so was most likely based at Unigate/St Ivel in Royal Wootton Bassett.

It was probably one of the worn out motors that Wincanton used to underprice and ■■■■■■ a contract from Bewick Transport in 1991,then they proceeded to ■■■■ it up with unreliable service, what a bunch of ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ it next time round though :sunglasses:

No sheets and ropes on this contract Dan, 6x R113’s and 16 trailers in customer livery and supported by the general fleet, on the fixed part of the contract the Scanias ran 24/7 for 6 days and nights IIRC and this was paid for on the last day of the month the work was done! the ad hoc other work was paid by the 15th of the month following. Great outfit Modo Merchants, although we had hauled their woodpulp back to the Mill at Beetham from Dartford since 1970.Cheers Dennis.

That WRM lorry looks smart ,is that WRM on the number plate too ?

Sure is Dan,it was a Bewick contract I secured just prior to the time we joined the Group and I got WRM reg No’s for them all some from Graham Commercials Carlisle and some from Keltruck West Brom. Don’t no I bothered looking back :frowning:  Cheers Dennis

F904 FYB was named Ajax.It was the first in a batch of ERF Tractor Units purchased by Wincanton : F904-910,912-928,935-939 FYB.Most were allocated River names, but F904 was one of 8 given “A” names
