It’s easy enough work , all Sainsbury’s or Asda , depends which one of the Crick sites your on. Normally get the same run every day , but the old hands get all the nice runs
Stupid o’clock shift patterns and it 24/7/365 chilled so forget bank holidays etc.
I had an interview a couple of years back at Crick and was told to expect to be working xmas day and new years day , along with the rest of the speech I got I ended up turning the job down , but i know a few drivers there and a few of the w/house staff and they seem to like it . Hope they don’t put you up in Rugby , it’s like living in Beriut these days , so keep your head down
Thanks shade thats sounds good! Its for a agency so it will be Bagdad
An easy job with lots of sitting around. Job normally goes…out to suppliers do a collection. deliver to RDC and bring a collection back in with you. Mainly long shifts, all regular pick up and delivery points. If you get chance, ask for digs in Long Lawford !!

Thanks. Need the hours to make it worth while leaving home
I’ve worked for NFT for 18 months out of the Bristol depot.
Not to bad to work for. When I was driving most of the shifts are based on 12 hours. It’s the easiest job I’ve ever done. You are rarely expected to touch the load and you are never pushed, it’s takes as long as it takes within reason.
If you take the job & you get sent to the Bristol depot make sure you buy the shunter a coffee. (me)
If your looking for a job nearer home malcolms are currently looking for drivers
in alloa, newhouse and grangemouth

Jeez Mike , go easy on the guy , Ive lived in Rugby all my life and they only let me in Lawford if accompanied by a local

Volvo’s and Daf xf’s on Sainsburys , all Scania’s on the Asda contract
They want drivers to do a Driving assesment before they start
They want drivers to do a Driving assesment before they start
That’s company policy, nothing too difficult though usually just a short drive round the block then a reverse onto a bay.
Last I heard the Sainsburys operation at Crick was going to close down when the new Sainsburys super depot opens up that way. The ASDA operation was going to move into the current Sainsburys site.
As been mentioned before it’s easy, clean work but they expect you to work long hours. Bank Holidays are treated as a normal working days; the only one you are guaranteed off is Christmas Day.
Oh and there’s free tea and coffee in the mess room
I worked at Elstree for 6 months but the bean counters at Sainsburys shut us down. I found them OK to work for, the rate of pay wasn’t the best but it was regular.
Thanks jeh_lon. Free coffee Yip ee. Does any one no what the local pub and food establishments are like?

If you can fight try London House and then Chesters!!! For food just use Weatherspoons in the market sq, then pop over to the Irish club almost opposite, you’ll feel right at home as its full of Scots !!

pmsl Mike, they search at the door for weapons in Chesters and will provide you with one if you forget yours
Seems you know the town well Mike , Rav ,try The Crown ,The Duck and the Bull ,also Walkabout and Sports Bar (both do good grub) and all these are within 2 mins walk of each other. I do them all plus a few others on Saturday nights
talking to one of there drivers the other day and he said some of there drivers wear makeup, dresses, stockings and high heels as there uniforms ,dont if it was true or not but he seemed straight enough
