Inexperienced class 1 Dundee

Hi does anybody know of any companies that will take a punt on an inexperienced class 1 driver in or around Dundee?

I have had my C+E since 2012 but never made the move to class 1 due to family commitments and never driven an artic since my test.

Thanks in advance.

I have read that Stobart have a new base in or near Dundee and if you’ve got a pulse you will probably get a start!

Good luck with your search anyway!

All firms with a fair number of artics. Address details off Google.

DON’T phone them.
DON’T email them.
DO go and see them.
Ask to speak to someone who deals with driver recruitment. Take details of your name, address & contact details that you can leave with them.
(This will show them you have used some INITIATIVE -sadly lacking these days- and are a ‘cut above’ the dozen or so who may have phoned or emailed them in the last few days (or weeks.)
Take a hi viz waistcoat in the boot of your car in case you are offered an assessment drive ‘while you’re there’… :sunglasses: and it will reassure them that you actually have a car for those 5am early morning starts…

Good Luck.

Also take your steel toecap boots/trainers/whatever along with you. I´m finding that unless you have these, along with your hi viz jacket, as a minimum of PPE, then you won´t get an assessment.
Good luck.

think I will do a couple of agency shifts before i go for a driving assessment with any potential employer.
Thanks for the advice.

P.S.Ridgway - I worked for them on my first artic job after passing test. Go to the office rather than mailing or phoning them.

Good luck.

Saw the title of the thread and thought it was an advert for a “liason”

Sorry it’s of no help at all, but it’s Friday and I’m going home! Yay!
