What I don’t get is that drivers must obviously be aware of the benefit of using indicators, yet refuse to give that benefit to other road users.
Other drivers not indicating on roundabouts is one of my many pet hates and it’s so easy for drivers to get it right but they just don’t care - no consideration for others. However, as Oscar Wilde never said, there’s only one thing worse than not indicating and turning and that’s indicating and not turning - dangerous.

Errrrr Yes, I`ve had a few very close shaves in my younger days with this little trick
Now, I just don`t take my eyes off them till they proceed to do the opposite of what the indicators are telling me
Simon:
I use a simple method of divining a drivers intentions on a roundabout.
I look at their position on their entry to the roundabout. If they come from my 12 o’clock, not indicating right, that means they are taking the exit of my entry, so I go.
Surprisingly I have had quite a few drivers find fault with this method, and display there displeasure by finding their horn button
. If they can’t find their indicator stalk, how can they know where the horn is

I have found that stopping, exactly where I am when I hear their toot, and gently reminding the driver of their obligation to inform others of their intentions by use of the indicators is usually quite well received.
I point out that twitching their finger slightly against this stalk will make orange flashy lights on the outside of their car operate. I have, in the past, been able to show them the exact stalk required, by waving it forcibly in front of their face.
Funnily enough, I’ve never reminded anyone on their indication more than once.
I love doing that, the look on their faces when they think I’m gonna get out of the cab is priceless.

that happened to me on my class 1 test, I said aloud to my self “should have bloody indicated then” the examiner agreed and I didn’t even get a minor for it
This has to be my biggest pet hates, especially for us truckers when we need to know as we are obviously longer than a car, car drivers just dont have a flipping clue, well 99% dont
A sage piece of advice “the only thing an indicator proves is that the bulb works”

I do exactly as Simon says…LOL excuse the pun…
If they indicating and looking like going off at the exit before my entry then I am going…and when they blow their horn I join in the chorus and blow them a kiss…watch how quick they go bright red…

Very true no indiction no stop and keep smiling
As this is a open to read public forum I think I will mention this…
In the posts above it may seem to some that truckers pull out in front of another road user without a SAFETY consideration but that is definitely NOT the case.
When a truck does pull out onto a roundabout where the numpty is not indicating then the trucker has already worked out that the numpty can stop in time.

If a non LGV driver was reading this, we’d prefer them to be filling their shorts on their approach to a roundabout, in case they forgot to indicate properly.
Now I doubt if they’ll even bother to raise a ■■■■
so i have got my c + e test comming up. to all the trainers on here how should I treat non indicating road users at roundabouts when im on my test

Assume they are going across your intended path of travel unless you are 100% certain that they are not.
You impeed the progress of another road user on a DSA LGV test and you are 99.99% certain of a fail.
Getting minors or a serious for hesitation -
This has nothing to do with the TIME you are waiting for a safe gap to proceed
It is to do with obvious missed OPPORTUNITIES to proceed safely
Whilst taking my PCV driving test I wanted to take the third exit at roundabout so I indicated right and then left as I passed second exit. Got failed for that.

At what position on the clock face was the exit you wanted - 11 o’clock, 2 o’clock etc

You mean like this:-
Or like this… ?
It was about the two o’ clock position
