Inability to follow basic instructions

I’m currently parked on a 45 in Michael Wood n/bound, for those not familiar with the place as you exit the M5 and enter the service area there is clearly painted on the road in white 3 foot high letters a sign telling HGV to keep left and cars to keep right. I’m gobsmacked at the number of cars who are coming into the HGV park and either reversing out into the path of entering traffic, or doing a u turn and heading back out!

Interestingley not a single HGV has entered the car park by mistake while I’ve been here.

I wonder what that tells us? Probably the fault of HGV drivers someone will tell us soon.

Because you sit so much higher you can see the signs a lot easier hence no mistakes from HGV’s… and the car drivers are dumb of course :grimacing:

Lets not forget the number of hgv drivers that plough into well sign posted low bridges.

The same thing happens at Wetherby MSA, it’s a right royal pain in the arse when you’re trying to reverse into a space and you have numpties in cars where they shouldn’t be.

Will I’m at it…I’ve lost count at the number of times I’ve nearly had an accident at Wetherby with cars not stopping at the stop sign when they exit the services. ***** the lot of 'em!

Is this really causing a problem? I think there are far more important problems on our roads than a few cars entering an LGV park.
Of course you never get LGV’s disobeying any road signs like speed limits but maybe they are a bit complicated to understand.
I think you need to find a hobby if you are worrying about things like that eh.

Just sit at Lymm truck stop and watch the cars go by in the lorry park !

Wetherbys situation is slightly more complex as the also use the HGV parking as overspill when its busy (in the summer) which is why its got additional markings painted on the ground. This causes me huge merriment when this happens, as the car drivers cannot understand that HGVs will also use the area.
As for them failing to stop as they exit, tough as its a compulsory stop sign for cars, so if 1 fails to stop and I happen to collide with it, they loose due to failing to stop

Tbh it doesn’t cause me a problem in the slightest. But look on the bright side, when the car carrying the family reverses out of the clearly marked no entry bit straight into the path of an oncoming HGV at least the resulting fireball will give you a chance to get back on your favourite hobby horse and spout more bollox about maniac truck drivers.

I stopped at Doncaster North yesterday for thirty minutes. During this time three car drivers found themselves in the HGV park. One parked his car at an angle on a bend and walked to the filling station to buy something stopping at least two of us from leaving. One did two circuits and then tried to drive out the in road when there were several trucks coming in, caused no end of amusement.

This happens at harthill services all the time, they are what as classed as dolly bastarts :grimacing:

Well trucks shouldn’t be in the services.
What a stupid place to park a few lorries.
Trucks are too wide and too big for our roads.
It should all just go by rail anyway.

The typical sentiments of a car driver.

Exactly but some seem to forget that.Probably most of these cars in the truck park are truck drivers that don’t like parking in a car park.
The ones that pick faults with others are usually have plenty themselves.
Anything interesting to talk about?

let’s get it right. It’s not the cars that drive in there, It’s the women driving the cars.

Finally something we both agree on! I mean what sort of dim witted, foolish, small minded friendless troll would only place posts criticising others?

Oh hang on a minute, that describes you, Trucknets very own personality vacuum himself!
Now run along and play with your notebook sonny, I’m sure that somewhere on your “patch” a truck driver is committing a crime you need to criticise.
