Delivering Hamburg saturday morning anyone got any suggestions where I can see the game. Either in Hamburg or somewhere along the A1 on my way back.
plenty of decent autohof’s between hamburg and dortmund take your pick just don’t cheer for ingurland and expect to get away with it
TRY looking through this SITE
Pretty much every fuel station, rasthaus and autohof will have the football on.
Feel free to cheer for England; you’d get lot more strange looks cheering for the States
there are 3 Autohofs in Hamburg
Shell
Altenwerder Hauptdeich 22

Georgswerder Bogen 2

Hammer Deich 3

The first one looks a bit small and is at Junc 30 on the A7
the next is on junc 1 of the A252 very close to the A1
and the third is about 1/2 Km off the B75 and 5 KM from the Reeperbahn, but I doubt if the Reeperbahn will be showing the football
personally i would head for sittensen, about 20 minutes out of hamburg heading south on a1. good parking clean showers footie will be on big screen in bar. and crucially any brits about will most likely head there too.

One of my favourite stops in Germany, been using that place for over 20 years and still use it on a regular basis as we deliver about 4 km down the road from it. Easy walk into town from there, the only drawback is it is closed Sundays.

Ha ha. Coffeeholic won’t be cheering for the states. I read his book “Coffee to Go”. The man has a good head on his shoulders.

FAO John Aalborg:
Mr. Coffeeholic is a Scottish gentleman
(As such, he could doubtless appreciate that marvellous piece of “Scottish Goalkeeping” demonstrated by Mr. Green

We haven’t had that sort of goalkeeper for years now, while it has been very much the norm for England in recent years. Once I had stopped laughing after the goal went in last night I just thought typical English goalkeeping, as did the English and Belgian people I was with.

They still keep the lights on at night end-to-end on the motorways in Belgium what with the energy “crisis”?

I can’t remember if they still leave the lights on, it’s daylight when I run through Belgium just now.
They’ve made a few changes in the last couple of years though.
We can’t overtake at all if it’s raining.
We are banned from overtaking on 2 lane duals and motorways unless signs say it’s allowed.
So on the E411 from Brussels to Lux’, after the N4 split, there’s virtually no overtaking allowed (a few of the long climbs are 3 lane). A lot of drivers chance it anyway.

Ahhhh, but you guys get paid by the hour! We get paid by the mile here in the states, and if a trucking commentator even suggests we switch to a safer, hourly wage he loses his job. As for myself, I have learned to keep my mouth shut on the CB re mentioning what the rest of the trucking world does, how it works, etc. You know, “them furners” or “them euros”. Tis why I quit the American forums and hang out here.
