I got my 24v kettle from Eifelltor truck stop in Germany when my old 12v went bang, (literally), cost about 30euros but is superb. It is essential however to fit a proper bosch plug and run from a decent socket, any other plug or socket is just pointless. Boils really quick and gets loads of use. I bit pricey but as they say ’ pay decent money & get proper kit’.

my 24v kettle think it is made by Trax is great takes around 10 mins to boil 2 mugs worth of water.
bought it in 1999 and its still going strong.

Gone down the gas route with a small burner from go outdoors with compact cooking pans. All fit inside each other in my ruck sack side pocket. New company I do some work for involves odd night out at random so it will provide cooking options in a worse case scenario…

Waste of time, tried one , it lasted a very short time. The lorry had bad battery’s and I was stranded in layby at Castledouglas had to wait on Fred Maxwell who never appeared, ended up jumping the lorry of the fridge battery,Gas and a small saucepan every time

inverter in anderson socket with a argos 230v travel kettle 60seconds boiled and if breaks just take back replaced job done

I use little gas stove , doesn’t take many minutes to boil. I called in the services one night & asked the price of a small ‘truck’ kettle, the assistant got on the phone to enquire ( as there was no label on it ) , & came back to me with £24 :open_mouth: I politely said no thanks, & he admitted himself the price was a bit steep for what it was .

When I do use 1 for the day I use my Jetboil we use when we go walking, £60 a tad much but a litre of water in under 2 mins just the job for a brew and a flask top up .

So I bought a burner from Go Outdoors 11.99 and this pan / mug set 14 quid. Boils quicker than any electric kettle and fits all inside each other. Well impressed

If you have a decent inverter these are excellent

  1. what’s an Anderson socket?
  2. what size inverter would be needed?

Yes I’m thick when it comes to stuff like that :grimacing:

Most common usage is for supplying power from the tractor unit to a trailers tail lift

There’s an Anderson plug on the back of my unit. Gonna see the boss about sticking a microwave in. :sunglasses:

Oh yeah I’ve seen them, didn’t know what they were called. Suffice to say I don’t have one on my unit :frowning:
