Anyone know how the artic ended up err well into the field at side of A1 nr Durham?
Saw it thurs morning and though impressive parking that, still there this morning too.
Either fell asleep or swerved to miss something.

That was my dad. He took ill on wednesday night on his way up to gateshead. Seemed he blacked out. He spent a night at durham hospital and went home the next morning. Back at home now and right as rain. He even did the hooving and housework for my mam lol. Not 100% sure on the cause but he is diabetic so could be low sugar maybe. This is the first time in the 12 years hes had it that this has happened. He’s had to inform DVLA so were waiting on wetha he has to surrender his HGV or not.

There were a bunch of wreckers there pulling it out when I went past southbound at around 1045 last night.

I think youre right there. He was able to get it back 2 years ago when the law on insulin dependent drivers changed. If he doesnt get to keep it well so be it. The important thing is he is alive and well and on the job front our boss (I drive for the same firm) has said he has a job whatever happens. Even if he can’t drive a car for a while he says that theres a job as warehouseman. All ths staff and drivers at our place have been spot on.

It is easy how things like this happen Harry. A driver had a sneezing fit on the A7 below Longtown and ended up going thru a churchyard. No matter how safe a driver you are it can happen. This is the second accident my dads had since he started driving in 1976. The first accident, involving a bus on the forth road bridge, was caused by the bus driver.
Glad your pops is ok, and lucky no ones else was involved for everyones sake, hope hes ok health wise and just has to put his feet up for a bit

Glad the driver is o.k was gobsmacked how it was still upright and looked relatively intact coming of the A1 there!
Saw that myself yesterday and amazed it was upright, almost looked like it had just parked there to be honest & not come of the A1 !!
