Immingham docks

Hi all,
Got to drop and collect a ferry trailer from Immingham next week.
Will be from the Cobelfret site wherever that is. Is the routine similar to Felixstowe (electronic) or more like Purfleet where you put your details on a card and hand it to a bod in a box?
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are two places where you pick up trailers from in Immingham. Both places have manned gatehouses so you’re covered.

Just looking on the web, the Cobelfret site is actually at Killingholme.

Thanks for the info, will go there. Probably be up there all week, got to sniff out a few decent overnight parking spots.

There is free parking in Immingham itself. If you out of the west gate, take the first left off the roundabout, follow the road into the industrial estate. Its on your right.

You just mentioned the magic word “free”, thanks for the help.

Cobelfret is easy enough but can get very busy at times. You’ll come off the a180 at the first slip road sign posted for immingham just after the road works start iirc it’s the a160. Go up the slip road and follow that road to a roundabout, straight over that and you’ll come to a set of traffic lights with a filter lane to go left. Turn there and follow that road past the refinery, you’ll come to a 90 degree right hand bend, go round that and pass a power station and the road will bend to the right slightly. Take the left turn on that right hand bend, you’ll see a load of horrible Kia’s parked there, you’ll follow that road to the right and cobelfret comes up on your left. Pull up to the manned booths, give them trailer number and release reference and you should be ok. Don’t know where you go once in the place as I dropped off lift tanks not trailers but there’s a map on the back of the paperwork they give you, just ask them which are you have to go to. As for parking the one that’s sign posted as free parking ain’t free anymore but they give you a voucher for the pub around the corner. There are places to park there but it does fill up fast. You can usually get a decent spot near isotank but if your going to be swapping trailers then parking if it’s going to be late on if leave the collection till the morning to make it easier to park up. Cobelfret opens nice and early, it may even be 24hr but the earliest I went in was 4am. There’s some decent chippy’s there as well millards is quite good. Sorry for the massive essay, up until September last year I spent 2 years going in and out of there so know it quite well.

double post

Turn there and follow that road past the refinery, this road is 40MPH, and half way along there are traffic lights with cameras (both speed and redlight). you’ll come to a 90 degree right hand bend, the road around here is bloody rough, they have just repaired the subsidence but its coming back already.go round that and pass a power station and the road will bend to the right slightly. Take the left turn on that right hand bend, you’ll see a load of horrible Kia’s parked there, you’ll follow that road to the right and cobelfret comes up on your left. go past gate D, there then is a fuel tanker depot, then gate C use that, or if its chocker, look for a red/ greed light in the distance at about 11o’clock, if green continue to gate B, DO NOT GO OVER THE LEVEL CROSSING AFTER GATE B, you’ll struggle to get turned round Pull up to the manned booths, all the booths are manned, look for the red/green lights above the lane. give them trailer number and release reference and you should be ok. once on hst/killingholme,

gate C, go through, the road will curved around to the right and will end at a t junction, turn right, over roundabout,

gate B, go through, the roundabout turn right.

you should have some sheds on your right and railway lines on the left, at the cross roads, straight on and take the 2nd right (in to “K” compound) for dropping a trailer (just find a bay and dump it.)

import (pick up), back to the cross roads and turn left/right and go across the railway lines, then turn right. in to “M” compound, your paperwork with give you a location for your trailer. it’ll be MC023, mc is the lane, and the 023 is the bay no, just forget about the 0 bit.

the lane numbers are on the floor at either end of the bay and at various locations along the lane.

damage, if you find any damage on your import. you need the recheck system.

leaving the “M” compound the way you came, turn right, follow the road around to the left and turn right at the t junction, follow to the traffic lights, and turn left and left again, park in the bays on the left, and go to the hut that is there, if there is no one there, ring the number on the door.

exit, (assuming you get this far in your quest) you can only leave via gate C.

hope it helps.

Thanks for all the info, makes the job easier when you roughly know the routine
