Imerys Leemoor Plympton

Going to the Herreschoff Kiln tomorrow with a 44 tonner. Apparently there’s a specific route in… does anyone know it please?

PHONE POSTED TWICE… can admin please delete one post.

I have looked at the map, you can get there by coming off at Ivybridge or Plympton, the post code is PL7 5JP, phone number for the site is 01752 839 011 .
There are numerous clay mines and quarries in the area, of which i used to go in container lorries, from memory , a few of them to access are quite hard to find or get to, and a good day can turn in to a bad day very fast, by taking the wrong turn in the narrow lanes, and end up stuck ,or rescued by a crane .
Some were via residential housing estates , in the middle of nowhere , boggy fields and stray livestock on the roads .

Do not come off the A38 at Ivybridge!

Come off at Plympton and follow the B3416 from Chaddlewood. The easiest way coming south bound is right at the top of the slip road. Left first exit at the first roundabout. Right second exit and the next one and then follow that for about a mile to the next roundabout. Watch out for the speed camera just before the bottom of the hill. Take a right under the railway bridge and then right again at the next one. Take a left onto the B3417 which will be signed for Lee Moor. This road is tight but is passable and been used by HGV’s for years going to the clay works. Not sure where the exact place is for the plant you want but there is an Imerys place as you go up the hill into Lee Moor.

Just checked and they have built a new bit for the B3417 which takes out the narrowest bits. After the last roundabout there will be a weight limit on the first left turn for Lee Moor. The new road is about quarter of a mile up the hill on the left opposite the housing estate.

There’s a black sign for lee moor indicating the correct exit from the main drag.

Thanks for the replies lads. I had a look on Google Earth last night and saw that bit of narrow road which didn’t look good. Yes, thankfully there is a new bit of road there now which eliminates that section. Found it okay so thanks lads.

It’s a strange landscape on approach ya
