I’m saying nowt…

Good coz it’s already been done to death on another link pal :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

yep EIGHT ■■■ HOURS

Funny that, one of Stobart’s finest put his waggon on its side t’other night on the M6 too.

How’s that done exactly? Slow roll? Weaving about left and right? (There’s some central reservation damage by the looks of it)

Was he trying to break in some new tyres?

No doubt the container wasn’t loaded correctly so he thought he would let his wagon have a little lie down.

Funny breed container drivers, take a right huff when they don’t get flashed in when they overtake me

I was at West avenue in Stoke on Wednesday, they were saying his nearside wheel hit a dip & went into the kerb side & looks as though he over reacted & went off into the barrier ?

there is an unbelievable amount of stobart crashes at the minute, and there not bumps, there all write offs, i cant help to wonder if this in just because of the amount of lorry’s stobart have on the road or the kind of driver they are employing, as far an i know they are self insured so they have no real restrictions on who they employ.

not to say that other company’s don’t have crashes, it happens to the best,

There’s other companies that run larger fleets without much incident.

That is true, makes you wonder if all these companies that don’t take in apprentices etc and demand 2+ years experience before even thinking about hiring you actually do it for good reason.

on the TV program it showed planners jumping onto a truck to see what it was like tramping, and young Eddie passing his test then straight into a artic,

experience counts for alot.

Why is there a constant nit pick at Stobarts■■? There are accidents everyday involving lorries but only Stobarts seem to get slagged off. :unamused: If you don’t like Stobart then fine, don’t post and just shrug and hope no one hurt etc as you would with ANY other truck!

Oh the TN bandwagon :unamused:

Well of course they do it for a good reason, the one that’s as obvious as the nose on your face.
However someone has to be prepared to take the risk with newbies, otherwise at some point, there won’t be any experienced drivers. Or were you born an experienced driver?

I was heading that way just as it happened (Going from Lutterworth up to Crewe, aiming to arrive around 8.30am). As I was approaching Stoke on the A50, TomTom traffic picked up the increasing delays even before any mention had been made on BBC radio, so I turned left instead of right at the Sideway roundabout, went via the M6 and arrived only a few minutes later than planned. That’s why I always use the Satnav, even though I know my way to my destination and have been there dozens of times before.

TV prog was following young driver as he made his way through Liverpool. At three lane junction near city centre, there are two lanes turning right and nearside one is straight ahead only, which is painted all over the road. Stobart hero remains in nearside lane and turns right anyway. Artic in middle lane turning right can’t return to nearside lane because matey boy is there, so gives a toot on the horn, commentary says it is just a jealous driver, and it comes with the territory of working for such a high profile company. Uh? There are lots of reasons to dislike Stobarts, from rate cutting decent firms out of existence to monopolise the industry to the point where it can’t make it pay itself, to this toe curling series and lots more besides, but the main one for me is the laughable lack of humility and self-awareness, which is summed up by the scene above. A bit like the driver who says he has never been in an accident…but has seen plenty in the rear view mirror.

Theres plenty of companies that will take on newbies that dont get bad press. Maybe they only take on newbies with the righr aptitude for the job which is why there are no accidents with their trucks plastered over Tnet. I don’t believe there is anything to say most stobart accidents are caused by the newbies either so the lack of experience argument is also mute.

Nothing wrong with new drivers Dixon take them on and they don’t seem to have much bother
