Hello people I am currently on 2 weeks holiday from my normal job(supermarket home shopping delivery)
I am on with an agency and asked if they would have anything for me.
They said till just before easter it would be quiet. I said thats fair enough and it doesnt really bother me as I have my proper job anyway.
I had Monday off and Tuesday morning I had a phone call at 7am. Do you fancy overnight work. I said yes.
I got to the depot at 8am and went and saw the boss. He showed my the Truck I was going to be driving.
A 64 plate cf daf.
I sorted out the checks and then finally set off to that there London.
Was the furthest I have ever driven a class 2 lorry.
I was getting worried as I have only been to London twice in my life.
Once to the Millennium dome in 2000 and once to the Ace cafe.
So I was driving from Devon to London and got the drops off that needed to be done.
I then parked up at the services and went to bed.
Next morning I drove down to Deal in Kent and then another in Kent then back to Devon.
I had no problems with the drive at all but I have come to the conclusion that I dont like London.
I have not had much experience in class 2 as with my proper job they put me on 6 day weeks.
This is all experience in my eyes and even though the pay is not great the actual work is helping me.
Also the extra money is going towards my class 1.
Sorry If I have bored people but It was my first time out of the south west England(Ive only done Devon and Cornwall)
Also twas my first night out aswell.
This also makes me respect the people that do this sort of job day in day out.

I was born and bred in London and haven’t really been back to it since we left England for Oz in 1974. I really can’t blame you for not liking it, because it’s turned into a right crapole.
I used to love London deliveries till about 20 years ago, since then its gone seriously downhill, but then so have most cities and if i never see anything of the dumps other than a motorway passing by it’ll suit me fine.
Must have been quite a shock after Devon/Cornwall, don’t suppose you put yourself on the Tower Hamlets housing waiting list whilst passing by?

The furthest i’ve ventured in was a regular trip to a light bulb factory in New Malden many years ago but for the last 20 yrs Greenford and Erith is about as far as i go thank god.

Immigrants, if your escaping all the Terrorist Violence in the South West, you’ll be guaranteed a house in Tower Hamlets.

Sorry I dont really get what your saying as I was born and bred on the Isle of Wight now currently living in Devon so British.
My work is fully aware of my agency work and they said as long as it doesnt affect me at work then thats fine.
My proper job will always be first in line. So if I get offered agency work while I am due to work my proper job then they get turned down.
