That just about sums it up, do that, move on and don’t give it another thought.
This is what these firms want, they try and treat us like schoolboys (if you let them) the result is some of you react to stuff like this like schoolboys.
It was a ‘Non Event’, nobody died.
No offence o/p but ffs man up.
Anyone who drives any vehicle wearing a hi viz and who is not in involved in refuse collection parcel delivery or similar is clearly a t**t to cut around in your car wearing one speaks volumes to me.
When I think of National Express I see an extremely unfit individual driving his bus 3 feet from the back of the vehicle in front in the pouring rain.
I have had this several times over the last couple of years and nothing ever comes of it.
Next time it happens just jump out and start taking pictures also.It scares them.Someone once reported me for undertaking him on the M25 where its 4 lanes. They sent in the video to mr plod and i was told by the manager to go to the cop shop.I went in and explained everything. The person ended up with a fine for lane hogging .
I’ve a good mind to send my local National Express depot the dashcam footage of him pulling over in front of me with no indication or hazards and blocking the road. Stropping around with his NE high vis on. But probs better to leave it.

i wonder how many read that and agreed but couldnt be arsed to confirm it.
Can’t stand people who go on like this. Like they are gods gift and have never made a mistake in their life, which it doesn’t sound like you done to be fair. If he was a ‘professional’ driver then he should have known to give you a bit more room being a large vehicle.
I’ve had similar a couple of times. Especially with people hammering the accelerator trying to get past you as you merge out to overtake on the motorway. Always leave it 4/5secs before I move out to make sure but always get the odd ■■■ that would rather risk painting the crash barrier a nice red and save a few seconds to run up the arse of the person in front of you than let you pass safely.
If anything comes of it should play him at his own game.
Give National Express a call and say somebody in one of your uniforms for out a (whatever make of car) and started harassing me and taking photos of me and my truck while I was trying to do my job and without my permission etc. Might be fighting petty with being petty but could make you feel a bit better at the same time
Learn the art of non-confrontational confrontation…It has taken me many years, but the satisfaction derived from tying others up in knots once they have supplied the rope is bordering on perverse these days…I know not what is wrong with Jo Public in the UK, but they have been socially engineered to become whining, grassing, selfish, intolerant, greedy and inconsiderate individuals, this makes them very easy to wind-up
Questions are your friend in these situations and being nice is always unsettling for them, I once asked someone if they were having a bad day because they were giving me such a hard time, they burst into tears!!
I can always rely on the good old fashioned…“Ohhhh, someones tired” line

So, I’ve just had a member of the public threaten to report me, and to be fair I’m probably in the wrong, although it was a genuine misunderstanding/error rather than me driving like a ■■■■.
Was on the way to a new job in an area I’m not familiar with (city centre with confusing one way system), and realised I needed to change into left lane and take upcoming left turn which is still some way off. So I put my indicator on and slow down hoping somebody will let me in (no cars behind me). I had no intention of bullying my way in and would’ve just gone around the block if needed.
A gap appears and I thought ‘oh, he’s going to let me in’ but I waited for him to flash me to be sure. Car doesn’t flash but also doesn’t speed up. I waited a good five seconds and could see in my rear camera that he wasn’t speeding up, so I moved over.
Car starts beeping and flashing and going nuts. I flashed my hazards to apologise (although I was nowhere close to having hit him and he hadn’t had to slow down). I then had to pull over about a minute later as I’m at the job.
The other car pulls in front of me and I’m thinking "great, he thinks I’ve pulled over to have a pop’, which I’m certainly not going to do in front of my dashcam. Short fat middle aged bloke in a National Express high vis gets out and as it’s clear he’s not about to kick off I get out and say “I’m sorry mate, I thought you were letting me in.” He starts taking pics of me and the truck and flounces back into his car saying “I’m gonna report you mate”.
I’m not sure whether to preempt this and speak to the traffic office. I’d rather look like I’m being upfront, but chances are that they’ll log the time and then check the cameras. If I don’t report it and the guy just calls up and has a moan then they might not bother trawling through the footage (or they might ask me what time it occurred which means they’ll see the footage anyway and it makes me look like I was trying to avoid reporting).
My company are quite strict in general and defo review footage etc, but on the other hand there are plenty of people who have collisions and get away with it - a colleague backed up into a car without checking his camera only yesterday.
What do you guys think?
If you’ve got all these cameras that show you did nothing wrong, why worry? Give your gaffer the heads up that some pillock might put a ridiculous complaint in and forget about it. I bet the other guy does.
Rowley010:
Report you for what exactly?? You’ve committed no offence and from what you’ve described you didn’t do anything dangerous.
Well, he’d probably say I cut him up. I did cross pretty close in front of him, even though I could see I wasn’t going to swipe him due to my rear camera. Usually I’d probably not pull in as close, but I’d been sat there indicating for ages and he was hanging back so I assumed he was waiting for me to pull over.
I think it’s likely he either wasn’t paying attention or was just being an arse.
It’s hardly an offence though and what does the Highway Code say about anticipation of what large vehicles are going to do with signals on when approaching junctions, tight turns and roundabouts etc. If he’s got footage on a dash cam then anyone would look and that and just think, erm yeah you had plenty of warning he was going to move over and you didn’t react. Even if you did cut him up, it doesn’t sound like it was dangerous. No offence, not dangerous. He’s got nothing to report you for.

Yea that is the problem. Experts everywhere
I had someone kick off about ‘all the trucks coming down here, taking our grass verges’ etc in a little hamlet down in Hampshire, I was there picking a old excavator up and had to go through the 7.5 ton limit to a lane end where the machine was going to be tracked down to me. This local guy kicking off reckoned he was a driver and I could have come in the other way, down the mirror-smashing trailer-squeezing back road from the A272. Anyway he gave it the ‘i’m reporting you’ line and took pictures of the lorry. Ten minutes later my phone rang and it was indeed the local nimby reporting me to the number on the back of the cab, mine
I worked with a chap( shop steward) years ago ,car followed him into yard he got out and started balling and shouting at him,to this the shop steward chap just said …I suppose you do not make mistakes ,this defused the the event and he cleared off

Yeah, I’m no doubt overhinking it. Thing is, though, I know what my employer are like - big multinational with big fuss made about ‘corporate image’.
No drama about the occasional scrape on the truck, and a collision with a vehicle normally just requires an assessment. However, if some numpty calls up and makes an ‘official complaint’ to head office I can see this triggering some kind of ‘investigation’, and I’ll bet mr angry bus driver will know what to say compared to the average knob on the street.
You sound frightened to death of losing your job mate.
This is one of the reasons driver get paid peanuts. There is always another job available, don’t be afraid
