I'm a Cowboy

Just got to get this one off my chest.

Received an abusive email via our website accusing me of being a cowboy. This is because we refer to both LGV and HGV and the kind gentleman has pointed out that there is actually no such thing as HGV. It’s noteable he decided to remain annonymous and I doubt very much if he visits this site.

Clearly he doesn’t have a clue about how search engines work otherwise he wouldn’t have made such a pathetic comment.

For clarity, since 1997 the term HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) has been replaced by LGV (Large Goods Vehicle). It is exactly the same thing and has been since 1997. But the fact is that the term HGV is still in common use.

But, if I’m a cowboy, anyone’s welcome to come drink coffee at my ranch!!

God, I feel better now!! Need to drink more tea. Good luck to everyone out there training, being trained and coming up for test. Pete   (Horse waiting outside so I’ll just get the spurs on!!)

HGV 1 after 2 fails and still hasnt completed my 35hr cpc only 21 hrs since april and has lost one of my 7 hr certificates meaning i only have proof of 14hrs no no mate thats a cowboy …some one who can put their wallet where their mouth is offering a guarnteed pass at a set price is not a Cowboy …

all the Best ROY

I’ve also seen LGVs referred to as ‘CGV (Commercial Goods Vehicles)’ ‘LCV (Large Commercial Vehicles)’ and ‘HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles)’.

So, take you’re pick. There are plenty of options. The best thing you can do with abusive emails is not to lower yourself to their level or stress over it.

Years ago during the foot and mouth crisis I reported seeing some unpopular antics in the countryside by a commercial venture and received abusive email after abusive email, all badly written with numerous spelling mistakes from the manager/owner as well as ‘a friend’ all using the same manner of writing. I tried to answer politely but it never helps.

That one escalated as far as them blocking my car in at where I was working then and demanding I turn up and deal with him. The company didn’t want to get involved and didn’t want to risk me being involved so they re-worked my schedule in a day cab so I spent a few days working out in East Anglia stopping at a B&B until the guy buggered off…

He may have remained anonymous, but he has left you his email address. Would you like my Nigerian cousin to pay him a visit with some business proposals. just send me his email and I will arrange it for you.

I only need, your bank card and csc details
