On the 23rd I posted a request for some help, the response has been poor by any ones standards. You all know it goes on, you have probably seen it if not had it happen to you. Today, I had conformation from a journalist friend who has been speaking with a home office executive, that they (the home office) are possitive that the hauliers/drivers are to blame for this problem, not the immigrants. Tell that to the 2 drivers beaten with Iron bars or the driver who was threatened with a knife.
Just before Christmas I was injured by one of three immigrants on my truck and have been off work since. The police will not prosicute them because ‘they technically haven’t broken the law’, apart from the fact that they entered by clandestine methods, willingly avoided authoriies and absconded. I have been banging my head against a wall trying to get someone to listen. Anyway I have finally got the shadow minister for immigration, Damien Green, to listen, and he would like some evidence of any incidents of this nature, if you have had any or know of any incidents of immigrants on vehicles would it be possible to email them to me.
More recently I have been interviewed by the BBC Inside Out team to be aired at the end of September, filmed with and had discussions with Richard Ashworth MEP who is on the European transport budget committee, met and discussed this with Peter Cullum, Head of International Affairs of the RHA, letters of support from Geoff Dossetter and Don Armour from the FTA who have said they will bring this up with the FCO at their next meeting.
Since starting this I have discovered that I came off very lightly on 10th November 2006 two drivers, who’s names I will withhold , were beaten with iron bars and required hospital treatment for broken bones etc, test for herpes and aids because they had been bitten, had all their personal belongings stolen phones, licenses cd players, and to cap it all these ‘people’ used the drivers company phone to call his employer and scream obscenities about England killing their people and Tony Blair killing their people and next time we will kill you. How long will it be before that actually happens, someone is killed because, I have been told by an MEP that he knows their is at any time 1000 immigrants waiting in and around Calais, how many have already got over detected or undetected.
What I would like to happen is the imposition of fines stopped and allow drivers to report these incidents without fear of getting done, Drivers and their companies are the victims not the culprits. I have sent out over 300 emails to anyone who is linked with the Haulage Industry, unfortunately I’ve had back a very few replies. Can you help? Thanks.
ive not worked the continent yet,but you and the 2 drivers have my full sympathy i wish that every-one including the authorities would start reconising the fact that these’people’are in fact little more than savages,i dont buy the excuse that desperation and our foriegn-policices are all too blame for them risking it all to come here.Life has no-value to these savages,you only have to look at the way they treat there own people in there own homelands,they have no-place in our for the main civilised country,GET RID i say IMO the irony is if these 2 drivers had the means to defend them-selves then they would have been locked-up for months no-doubt unde the ‘yuman rites’ act 
chrisy boy, these incidents and others happened in France and the two boys involved are not getting much help from the French authoriies, they (police) were called on the night of the incidents, they (police) called for an ambulance and left them there, before the ambo arrived. The consulate in Lille is trying to help, but they (french) believe it is a British problem and should be dealt with here, the Brit authorities say it happened in France… you see where this is going don’t you?
I’ve been in contact with the Foriegn Office and I don’t think, no, I know they believe me, they still believe it is the Haulies/drivers fault. THEY HAVE GOT A CLUE.

The problem is it’s to big a problem for ministers to deal with without loads of money and co-operation from the French. So the easist option to show the Sun and Daily Mail readers you are doing something is to blame the Truck Drivers and impose fines.
However if these people would go over and have a look at the immergrants waiting in the Dunes and the bushes round Calais and then all the truck parked on the side of the roads they might understand the scale of the problem.
I work in motor racing so we don’t get the same problems of parking that general haulage get and our trailers are resonabliy secure, but in the last couple of years I know one team who had 7 break into the trailer (and they weren’t even parked near Calais) They were caught at the Heartbeat monitor but not due the the level of security, more due to the fact the people operating it wanted to look at the cars.
Not only did they damage the locks by breaking in they also unstrapped the cars and damaged equipment trying to find places to hide.
I also know of 2 other teams that found people hiding on the roof of the cab, but they both going into France and had parked in Calais for the night.

That’s part of the problem, they have been over there they have seen the hundreds of immigrants there. One MEP told me they know that there is at any one time 1000 immigrants waiting in Calais. I have also seen figures to suggest that across all the channel ports including Belgium, Holland and Germany, that it is estimated that as many as 50k are trying to get over here.
I have also seen reports that it is estimated that as many as 600k illegals are already here. and there are moves to give an amnesty to some of them.
Could you send me a pmemail with the details of those teams you mentioned, I would like to speak to them, using those sort of companies could be very helpful.
Kingfisher,the ‘estimated’ 600,000 is the goverments [zb] figure in real terms theres probably 2 million or more,all of a sudden David Cameron has woken-up to what the ‘silent majority’ of this country really wants(or at-least seems to) id be concentrating on the local tory MPs in your campaign,im as cynical as the next man when it comes to polititians but if were going to ‘stem the flow’ we need a change of goverment desperatley(ive never previously voted tory in my life) then maybe as opportunists maybe one or more of them might choose to exploit the publicity and force changes that way? …im not holding my breath either!
Crisy boy, you know you’re right, which is why I’m dealing with my local MP who as it happens is also the Shadow Minister for Immigration, I’ve had a meeting this evening with him and to say that the politician was sitting there in front of me was maybe a little disengenuois, he had a big folder in front of him with all sorts of files in, lots of goverment headers, and he asked me to continue with my ‘campaign’, and keeping him informed as to my progress and information.
So regardless of some who say it’s tired subjectm, I will keep asking for help and support.
