Illegal Immigrants / Clandestine Entries Pt2

Harry Monk:
Personally I would be surprised if any immigrants make it to Britain through Calais-Dover any more. I can’t remember the last time I shipped in without having heartbeat and CO2 tests at the very least, and usually a physical search as well.

They are still coming through in their hundreds, my sister in law works in the port dealing with any who get found in Dover or the channel and is kept very busy

In all my trips, about a dozen, since I started going back over the water, I’ve had the heartbeat monitor check only once, no physical checks and I never bother with the CO2 checks. Mind you I haven’t actually seen any illegals either but I guess if I could see them they wouldn’t be very good at their job.

Harry, you just beaten the system congratulations. I wonder if you will be so vitriolic if it happens to you, jimti is correct there are hundreds getting through, the only problem is proving it, and persueding sceptics to beleive it. You say ’ I can’t remember the last time I shipped in without having a heartbeat and CO2 test’, either you are coming through at quiet times or you are extremely lucky, but I’ll bet you a pound to a pinch of sugar you’ve seen them hanging about outside the docks or heard the claxon go off when they try to climb the fences round the dock.
jimti Can I pm you tommorow, I would like to see that reply you got, I’m sure it would make interesting reading?
Thanks it’s been fun, see you tomorrow

Well, I haven’t “beaten the system”, and it has “happened to me”. But whenever I arrive at Calais I’m automatically routed through the heartbeat sheds nowadays. I thought everybody was.

As for “quiet times”, I’m always asleep then.

As I related here recently, I detected stowaways, once, in my trailer at Calais (they banged on the headboard when they realised I was heading away from the UK) and although I braced myself for a fight to the death, I discovered such a pathetic, frightened and shivering bunch of individuals that I ended up giving them a carton of Tropicana from my fridge and five euros to buy some bread.

Hope that doesn’t offend anybody too much

Why would it  from everything I have read in this thread, the clandestines are the symptom, our Government and their policies are the cause of the problem.
And then they have the bare fronted neck to say " hauliers/drivers are to blame for this problem, not the immigrants"

The government have been playing the racist card as far as I can see, to avoid them being described as racist they pass the blame for all of this onto drivers. If we shout about it we are accused of racism. and if we keep quiet we are collaborators
to quote your earlier post again

It would have been easier to have said “I don’t like darkies”.

It would be very hard to describe me as racist, but in any argument I post on this subject it would be easy for that interpretation to be made

Describing people as “people” normally rings the alarm bell for me.

…likewise being called an ‘infidel’ in my own country allways offends me,i mean aint 2 million+ of these ok refugees enough? no country on earth does more than ours to help the third world, and how do they re-pay us? apart from biting the hand that feeds,im not commeting anymore on this thread as ive an idea that im walking a very thin-line with my views, but my sympathy goes out to the seek an hindu communities who live here quietly and respectfully and any other immigrant who choose to do the same as the mentioned ones, but anyone who doesnt then NO COMMENT

This debate is slowly getting away from illegal immigrants and the problems caused to drivers when they are caught, when I wrote the original piece I did choose my words carefully, it would seem that no matter what is said it can be taken anway which way by the reader, these ‘people’ was used because I haven’t a clue where they come from, they were Iraquis, Iranians or Afgans, they could have been British Asians, I just didn’t know, so these ‘people’ as I used it was a generic term, not intended to be a racist anything.

i would have kept going as long as could just to make them longer back.

Yes, maybe, but I’m just not like that.

Harry Monk… I’ve got it, I finally understand, you are here just to stir the debate, was it you who left his immigrant passengers on a snow covered road en route to Italy? you did say they were frightened and shivering, and you being a good samaritan gave them your tropicana and five euro’s to get a loaf of bread.
I am sorry I misjudged you, I thought you were being an argent provoceteur.

Eh?

Eh?

I was expecting more than that!!!

…humm not quite as saying ‘i dont like darkies’ but then im only quoting what Harry said…normally rings alarm bells with me too!

chrisy boy as I said before I didn’t have clue where they came from, it’s strange that someone picked up on a word rather than the content of the text. It wasn’t intentional I only asked for some info on similar incidents, so I could pass them on to the MP

do you want the, patra docks, novara services, reims arcotel, st omer, calais or dunkirk stories?
ive got loads and theyre all 1st hand accounts, as in they all happened to me personally.
what did you do to get hurt ?
i’ve had loads try it on in greece, italy, france, belgium, holland and lux and never got hurt once
each time i opened the back and asked them to leave, most did
for the ones that wouldn’t the local police did the job

no probs but it ■■■■■■ me off that all you seem to be getting on this thread is a negative responce, that is until it happens to maybe one of the drivers on this thread, and as sure as eggs is eggs they will be bleating on about 'poor old me’then and singing a different tune, hope you start getting some positive im-put instead of being slagged down,ok ive got no euro-experince but it dontstop me getting riled when inocent men going about there jobs get attacked :imp: :imp: :imp:

ok last week thay pulled three out in ramsgate and about 3 weeks ago oostend found 4 so keep looking out we never park in belgium or at that matter in holland .

Chrisy boy,
again I agree with you unfortunately some want to hijack this thread and make it a target for, I don’t know what.

biggusdickusgb & Boost
Thanks, any amount of info is good, if you’ve got first hand experiences please emial or ping me, tell me all the details and I will pass them on to the MP & MEP I am dealing with.
As for how did I get hurt? the short version is:- Dec 14th I open the doors the first two legged it and the third one landed on top of me, didn’t have much choice so I hung on to him, as this was going on the ligiments and cartilege in my right knee tore, required an operation to repair, good news is back to work tomorrow
