I’ve only been through about 6 times…and been on the grass twice.
Ffs lane 3 is wider than lane 1.
Been through it dozens of times, no issue. I’ve never seen anyone go on the grass.
Are you concentrating on the kerb or just looking ahead normally?
I’ve been forced off,by vehicles encroaching on lane 1.take a look in the mirrors…in places,there is approx 12 inch between tyres and white lines.
Add on the mirrors,and it don’t leave much room.
Absolutely fair point mate. My point tbf was more to with roadworks where lane 2 is width restricted, such as M5 Gloucestershire.
Dealing with your other point re if you did 50 then they’d end up running alongside you, well the fact is that if you were doing 50 and they caught you up, then surely they’d carry on speeding once they got beside you and complete the maneuvre? As long as your speed is legal then whatever they do is surely not any worry or problem to you?

You get a feeling of trust…you know your mates are’nt going to do anything stupid.

Oh I know its tight, I do it at the time the night trunk mob are on the go so there’s always plenty in L2. I mentioned looking at the kerbs/concrete barriers because I found that when I did and concentrated on avoiding them I tended to snake about a bit and looking straight ahead not thinking about it found it far easier to do.

on the same subject, anybody else notice that the length of the road works seem to be getting longer/go on for ever, I was going through the ones on the M3 last week, 50mph for 8.5 miles, [zb] I’d already been in them for 10 mins.
I will admit that I just sat in the middle lane doing excatly 50mph not tail gateing anybody overtaking the cars doing 43-45,was a bit nerve racking when the white van drivers over took me on the outside lane, hang on did I say I was doing excatly 50mph

Hog both lanes and do exactly 50. That’ll upset the TNT and Stobart ones up your arse all the time.
If its that tight then Winseers right.
Theres plenty roads up the north that are close ur eyes and pray tight. Hell of a funny when pullin a full chip liner.
We used to get letters every week from BP aboot our lorries breakin they’re mirrors.
Ranoch moor is a particular example.
