Boss - I need a word outside…………………………A lads leaving and I’m giving you his truck (18 month old Volvo 460)

Me - Don’t want it (have 10 year old Scania)

Boss — don’t you like Volvos? There’s a Daf out of the paintshop next week?

Me - don’t want that either just leave me with the old one and give one of the other lads the new truck. Don’t want it.

See as I say it new trucks need paying for, they need washing, they need scraping, they can go into central London the list goes on.

Funny as owt as I think he thought he was doing me a good turn but surly it’s a non starter

We’ve got 2 new ones coming to our yard once they’ve been wrapped, I already stated my case for NOT wanting one, I’m happy with my '57 plate, FH XL 480 (don’t mind London though :open_mouth: )

I had that when I worked for Panic in Rugby. I had a new truck in 07 brand new. Less than a year later, the boss said “New truck there for you.” I kicked up a stink cos’ mine was mint and comfy etc…He kicked up a stink & “insisted” I had a new one. Glad I did though in the end. Far bigger cab. :sunglasses:
