. He then proceeded to drive alongside me for two miles gesticulating and getting angrier and angrier. I’d seen him but chose to completely ignore him and not let him know I’d seen him which I’m sure had the effect of making him even more irate.
?
To Me this would have you looking like you didn’t want to make eye contact, because you may have felt that you had been in the wrong. The fact that you felt that your action, or lack off was making him more irate, and that this has made your day, does make you sound a bit unhinged

me too I agree with albion 100% what the post should say is I was in the wrong lane realised and moved over cutting up a van driver who got angry, rather than a simple wave and a sorry mate I didn’t know the area I decided to come on here and post about how I was in the right.
had something similar a couple of weeks back when I was in my car on the M1, lanes 2 and 3 closed all merging into lane 1, i’m in lane 1 artic level with me in lane 2, traffic crawling along at a snails pace, I then start to hold back creating a gap for him, (plenty of road ahead before it goes to 1 lane) now either an error of judgement or being a complete ■■■■■■ just pulls in, so for me its either move to the hard shoulder or be pushed there, so to the original poster you been on the M1 lately?
he perceived I’d cut him up, when in reality I merely manouvered into my lane despite him not wanting to let me in
So you was in the wrong lane to start with, you just wacked on the indicator and pulled over and expected to be let in due to the size of the vehicle you was driving…did he flash you… then why didnt you wait till he passed then moved over
what the post should say is… I was in the wrong lane realised and moved over cutting up a van driver who got angry

Thanks for making my day.
It all started with him getting narked because he perceived I’d cut him up, when in reality I merely manouvered into my lane despite him not wanting to let me in. He then proceeded to drive alongside me for two miles gesticulating and getting angrier and angrier. I’d seen him but chose to completely ignore him and not let him know I’d seen him which I’m sure had the effect of making him even more irate.
Just wondered how you all deal with such individuals?

So you havent forgotten have you lol
Probably in your “core memory” [emoji14]
I would probably cut the driver up if i lost my temper as well. I usually stoop to the idiots level unfortunately. Very bad habit lol
had a car driver cut me up when I was in my car,so I gave it all the mouth and gestures, we came to a set of lights and he put his window down and asked what was up,i shouted that he came into my lane by about a foot and nearly hit my car,he then very politely explained he did not know apologised and that was it,guess who was left feeling an idiot after mouthing off,i just did not expect that kind of reaction,i did feel a prat
Had a artic tipper try to force his way in on the A628 off the roadabout on the Manchester end then procceed to toot and light his lights at me, I had a foreigner in front of me who was slowing down for the turns which is fair play, left hand drive on that tight road. Some people are just plain A-holes.
In my rather limited experience of driving something where momentum is everything, I would guess that it’s probably a best idea to relax and give way to the one that has it. I doubt that my initial concept here is without flaws, and I obviously don’t mean breaking the drivers etiquette of being respectful and helpful either. But as a Newbie, I’m very cautious and don’t push or rush.
And while my fear of mirror removal is deminishing, it’s being replaced with joining moving traffic from a slip road. As these are now a different concept to me driving a truck!
Some feel very short, and you have to be moving fast enough to join the flow, but trying to be slow enough to stop if needed. As the alternative is generally a bit of off-roading!
