If your on here thanks a lot!

Well funny this thread

I’ll move over for you Mr Hodge, but I won’t let you leave me stranded as I always run 3 clicks below the limiter, my Little Violet has 480 horses up front, a P button, is very generously limited and chews Scannys and ■■■■■ em out going up Windy Hill with 28 tonne on.

ps: I HAVE THE BIGGEST WILLY, BUT I DON’T HAVE THE NEED TO WAVE IT IN EVERYONE’S FACE.

pps. is it sad to name your motor, even though she doesn’t have a tag on the bonnet?

I’m confused if someone pulls over to let you out and you then pull away from them once you’ve joined, is this regarded as leaving someone hanging out to dry.
Personally if I let someone out and there faster than me I’d rather they carry on and get going il pull back in when its clear.

Thats fine if they get on with it, but if your hanging for 3miles holding the traffic up thats taking the ■■■■ in imo. If i do pull away like that, say its a tesco lorry and i know im alot quicker i’ll still flash the indicators once they pull back to say thanks.

Courtesy seems to be a rare thing these days with all drivers.I put it down to selfishness and bad attitudes.

i disagree its not being selfish or bad attitude its about not giving others the chance to take the ■■■■ but also lack of respect on the roads by non hgv drivers

Wonder what people would do when they post things like this and the other driver posts on the thread as well?
Probably ■■■■ themselves

‘‘lack of respect on the roads by non hgv drivers’’ Your having a laugh. Truckers are at war with one another now!! This thread is a perfect example.

‘‘I won’t help anyone out in case they don’t help me back’’ Sad times

I’m with you…if I pull out to let somebody in and they pull away, I will just let off for a few seconds or so & pull in behind them. It’s not bloody rocket science, faster than me…on you go. Slower than me, I’ll move out and pass you anyway. Same speed…I’ll move out, let you onto the carriageway but probably ease off for a few seconds so you can get ahead then rejoin lane 1. If that costs me a whole 20 seconds, well, that’s 20 seconds more of the Ramones album I’m probably listening to before I reach my drop! Competitive idiots who get aggrieved at silly ■■■■ like this are just idiots!

But it is incorrect procedure, its effectively undertaking.

Are you sure?? I thought it would come under passing on the inside which is different to undertaking. Plus the fact that they would be side by side, and not come from behind.

Not if you don’t let him out! That way your helping Speedy overtake.

Driveroneuk:

Its not really, certainly not in the eyes of the law classed as a undertake anyway as you haven’t completed a undertake you have merely joined and merged with traffic on a carriageway.

If someone pulls over for me on a motorway i’ll steady up to let them complete the maneuver then overtake or keep behind.

Someone get ROG.

Saaamon:
Someone get ROG.

let’s not

Coincidently, i had a guy from same company, however he was super… couple weeks back, flashed me out everytime, for a while, when he went to overtake i knocked back to let him go

What a gent he was.

hodgeR500:
At the end of the day I was just saying he could of moved over to let me in and he never so [zb] every one else in future there will be no lettin people out or flashing and I know it was his right of way but it costs nothing to move over ESP when road is clear so [zb] it I’m gonna be a ignorant [zb] from now on

So no change there then.

At last, common sense prevails! :open_mouth:

OK the op was maybe a bit ott, and yeh the highway code, and law, says you do not have to pull over etc etc. Me personally I always pull over to let another truck out when safe, it,s simple courtesy and consideration, a dying sentiment I know, and it does ■■■■ me off if he leaves me stuck out in the middle lane, especially when the stream of cars following him by undertake you because of his actions, so come on guys, your schedule can’t be that tightarsed that you can’t back off a couple of kph to let the guy good enough to let you out, back in can it? It was just the done thing once over, and it sorts the true drivers out from the dicks with a licence, and saves a lot of frustration and bad feeling towards each other as illustrated on this thread.

You’re looking at it from the wrong angle. It’s the idiots such as the OP that caused this to begin with. If they drove with some professionalism then people would be happy to let them out as they know they’d be allowed to return to lane 1 and not be hung out to dry in lane 2 with everyone else thinking they’re the [zb] and not the ignorant [zb] that they thought they were sharing some camaraderie with.

In all the years I’ve been driving I’ve never once had any issue joining a carriageway from a slip road. If something is in the space where I would naturally merge at then I’d simply adjust my speed to merge behind them and that’s it, no dramas. None of this running miles down the hard shoulder waving Wayne Kerr signs out of the window at the guy in lane 1 and blasting the horn at them in a fit of rage. Seriously, those kind of drivers need their licences removing them, permanently.

Like I said Rob, he was a bit OTT with his point, but why in this case ,do you assume the OP intended to leave him out in lane 2 and not, as you say, allow him to get back in?.. By the way good to see you back posting mate, I’ve always been a big fan of your sympathetic liberal minded pc responses in the past :sunglasses:

To the driver of William nicol from Aberdeen thanks a lot you ■■■■■■ not moving over when I was pulling out of junction 35 and not another car in sight I’m sure you seen my hand signals when I passed you but if not this is for you [zb]

You got all the details why don’t you go and sort it out, maybe you can get him fired that would be your best option then he cant do it again… Rick head
