No offence NewLad but I really don’t get posts like these.
Do you not want dangerous trucks/overworked drivers taken off the roads?
I don’t go for all this money making nonsense that’s spouted anytime the DVSA are involved. They’ve never had a penny off of me and I’ve never been worried passing a checkpoint.

That’s because you’re whiter than white shag, some of us do the odd cheeky bit here & there that while fairly minor would still mean your pants are around your ankles & you’ll be doing the truffle shuffle with £20 notes cello taped to your ■■■■■■■ for Angus’ pleasure.

Im not whiter than white. I do 43 on single carriageways
The firm I work for however like to keep a well maintained fleet and for us to keep withing the hours set in law. I dont see how others seem to find it so difficult.
I suppose you’re right. Just some people don’t want the aggro, like someone else said for some minor things they’ll have your pants down.
The boys with the ‘Irish’ switch that disables the limiter and tacho should be caught.
There out in force today even pulling people in at Grantham and that hardly ever happens.

Thanks nick, been having serious thoughts of going back too bristol, been away too long( women and there families
) maybe she’ll now believe me that down south ( bristol) is far more sophisticated than the East Midlands
,up here they’ve only just gone from dirt tracks too roads ,never mind speed cammeras and knowing where they are
Cut the carp eh.
Loaded with waste at a dodge-pot Transfer loading station. No idea if the weighbridge is accurate or not but it tells me I’m under 44 tonnes so I hit the road. Vosa shidehawks pull me in and it turns out that one of my axles are overweight. I have no way of knowing this, the only thing I can prove is that the wagon was under 44 tonnes when I left the site.
£250 fine to me.
Keep up the good work brother, let everybody know where these moral-free, concious-free bastarts are.
How passed off would the weighbridge operator be if you asked him to weigh all six axles and give you an overall weight too??!!
coogy that s a sad tale, maybe you will have to weigh each axle as it is an offence to overload an axle as well as a total weight. With putting up the locations of where Vosa is operating, dont expect to drive past or dodge the area, as you know when Vosa set up a camp, they normally employ outriders
as well who would politely direct you into the site, seeing as there is not a weighbridge on that services ( they could set up mobile ones ) there is another site where they could weigh not very far from that one, just where the M2 splits onto the A2. Sorry to say this but Tippers in any shape or form would be a target from past experience.
I am not a saint, but truly believe 2 things; 1. If you have nothing to fear, dont hide or be afraid. 2. if you have a brand new truck and trailer on its first trip for the day i guarantee they could find possible faults if they so wished.
A long time ago i collected my unit from a scania dealership, where it had a service and an m.o.t. and to rectify any faults, i still had all of the paperwork when i collected my trailer and a hazardous load and headed down the A303 where i was pulled, across the yard was a barbeque where Vosa included were cooking sausages and burgers etc. Eventually they came to me, i asked them for a couple of rolls and a coffee, they laughed, i didnt when i threatened to close the barbie down because of my haz load, they obliged, then after proceeded to check my vehicle and found a broken front spring hangar, whereby they issued a GV9 until it was repaired, and threatened me with prosecution, i never said a word, but let them issue the paperwork, when the guy said to me that i didnt look worried, i told him i had just collected the vehicle from its m.o.t. and service, and to take the matter up with his colleagues at Purfleet and Scania who had prepared the vehicle…the look on his face was amazing and to think i got one over on them for a change, but it never changed my perception of them and always got a bit grumpy whenever i was pulled for i knew they could always find a fault, most were ok and were only doing a job, he got the paperwork back in the end and lifted the GV9 so it just cost me a few hours waiting for the repairs.
YES! Fistpump The VOSA BBQ story is back. This should be fun viewing…
I honestly thought that was the stuff of mythology along with chalk lines, Norbert landing his helicopter in Williams garden etc, but to actually hear it first hand I can honestly say that I’m deeply honoured.
Always enjoy reading these
would you like me to send details of the company i worked for at the time, to verify it, it seems to amuse a few on here as if its a concocted story, i am not in the habit of telling lies, i like to wind a few up, but no different to the majority, and amazing how many little lambs that follow…Baa…Baa…Baa

Heaven forfend anyone should think it was made up, after all I had a similar experience last week in Holyhead. VOSA had a pop up tea shop, had a lovely cream tea.
Is there really such a thing as an Irish switch?
