If you were a transport manager

Looks like Rum Truffles are out of the question too eh?

The rum would put you wayyyy over the limit and the chocolate would send your blood sugar level sky high. You would be a danger to everyone within a 10 mile radius.

I remember one driver calling up who finished in London and was coming back to the yard
called up an asked if I did mind him having a few pints before he finished work :unamused:

I’d say something to the shandy drinking driver :smiling_imp:

I’d say ā€œcan I have one please ? and where did you buy it I’ve not had shandy bass for yearsā€

I own my own truck but I do some sub contract work for a local water company, they have a zero tolerance, currently I’m on call for them (day & night) have been for a few weeks, one of the other subbies said to me ā€œif you can avoid going in a pub do so because if your even seen in the pub you’ll probably never get any work ever againā€

Last summer, I was cutting the grass on my ride on mower whilst drinking a can of fosters, my grass goes out to the main road, (I was on my own land with the driveway gate open) someone in authority stopped and politely advised me of the law.

Because my gate was open I would have been able to drive through it, because I’m able to do that I now come under road traffic acts legislation, therefore mower has to be insured for road traffic acts, and I come under drink driving etc and I need mower on my licence, also because it’s a place of work (only me & the wife currently) H&S comes into it so can on mower would be a no no.

Checked all this out, mower now insured Ā£80 a year, it’s mean’t to have number plates but apparently the police turn a blind eye, no more drink mowing for me then.

I used to drink a fair amount Friday/Saturday but I haven’t touched a drop in 3 weeks, I feel better for it, I’ve saved at least Ā£450 no meals out with the wife either, had indian takeaway instead of eating out Saturday probably saved Ā£50
