If travellers get shower facilities, why not us

Lorry parking need to be addressed though. Stopped for a 15 minute break at Thurrok on the M25 the other night. Trucks everywhere, lorry parking full, car park full of trucks, coach parking full.

Then stopped for my 30 minute break at Leictser forest services in the M1, same story, no space at all.

No idea what can be done, but over the next few years we’re going to run out of room.

That’s why, if I know that I am going to be parking in a MSA I always aim to be parked by 1800…normally no struggle to find a place then.

Maybe we need more dedicated truckstops rather than MSA’s :bulb:

Just need to find someone to pay for them and run them then

Maybe Stobarts could give it a go at their distribution hubs

Of the trucks using MSAs, truckstops etc how many drivers actually buy something rather than use the toilet, parkingfor a 45, free showers etc though? I admit to just parking up (not as often now as I rarely go on a motorway) and not even getting diesel. Whenever I was in the Cirencester area I had breaks at the now closed cafe, parked in the lorry park but never bought anything. I bring my own food ‘cos I’m tight (Christ I have to look at my phone if I pass a charity collector ) and I’d heard that Ciren’ truckstop was crap anyway.

I’m quite lucky, because I’m doing music/gig work, 99% of the venues have showers. Every now and then I’m stuck at a motorway service area. Some of the showers I’ve had no problem with, but I was stuck at Heston services the other day, gave the showers a miss. Think I’d have caught multiple diseases had i stepped in.

I had the same problem at an M1 station (no fing clue where. Only thing I knew about the M1 is eventually I’d find the M42 and M6). Absolutely full. There were two Polish drivers circling looking for somewhere to pull up while I managed to fit the puddle jumper behind someone else. He was then blocked in by an artic on the side, and a heavy haulage type thing at the front. I was just getting in the cab when he walked up to his lorry, but he didn’t know I’d still got 15 minutes of break to take…

Services are a joke to park in (unless you like the smell of stale ■■■■).

Pointless post. We aren’t allowed to question the dirty unwashed skanky caravan dwelling lowlife theiving scum on here .

Wow, I like that, to the point!!

how the hell dose a toilet and some showers cost over a million pounds?

£500 to build the facilities, the rest to pay for the tarmacadam work. And that factors in the discount for cash.
