……… They’d thought to put a sign on the other side too.
To be fair to the driver, that black and yellow graffiti is rather distracting.
That looks…
Like an old Stobart registration.
If it is, how fitting.
Ex Jenkinson, but no longer with them.
Should’ve gone to Specsavers…
At least now he’ll have plenty of time on his hands for a string of opticians appointments Even if the company hadn’t binned him, the TC would have/will give him a (minimum) six-week holiday from driving wagons.
Awww…
what i dont get is how any of these sign writers/makers cant convert between feet and meters accuratly. 3.7 meters is 121.669" not 12
3" Yess i know there is the rule of rounding down to the nearest 3" but that would mean the sign should read 12 not 12
3"

Don’t they start with feet (the only legal requirement in this country) and round down the meters.

Is it next to the old Hacienda?

I know what you mean.I cant take my trailer under tge a421 bridge at Swindon because it says 4.8m but my trailer is marked 4.88m,even though the bridge says 16feet and my trailer says 16 feet also.I appreciate drivers on this forum have assured me it fits, but thats not good enough for me,I need to see it in black and white. Its just me,Im funny with things like this.
youd think they could shave a couple of feet off the road at these low bridges
Obviously the issue is here is that all the luminous markings and signage and so on are on the wrong side of the bridge…

I know someone that i cant tell you about for your own protection that says there is a goverment funded group that stand by bridges moving all the signage to the otherside of the bridge when they see a lorry coming,
I have only twice in my short time driving had 2 close calls once when i was in deptford trying to avoid traffic in a 7.5t and once when working for tesco because i grew up in the area were these two stores were and thought i knew better than the 2.5 hour diverstion the microlise wanted me to do. unbeknown to me they had lowered the bridge at Edenbridge with a load of stupid barriers to stop people hitting it but managed to squeak under it,
Poor attempt compared with this bus !
Scary innit? ^^^^ Although it’s still inexcusable I kind of understand those who go for it when they know it’s marginal, but people like that bus driver or the infamous FH driver who hir the Ely bridge mid windscreen really need their licences revoked permanently.
They even had an extra clue !

The only driver I know who’s hit a bridge was suspended on full pay , pending a investigation , then was given a final written warning after investigation , never appeared before t/c or was sacked , and his reason for hitting bridge was he thought it would go
Just depends where you work

Nope…
Can’t see what you’re on about.

We know, if Stobrats would sack every driver who hit a bridge, they could halve the fleet.
