Idiot traffic warden

in the sun today,a traffic warden put a ticket on a lorry while its driver lay dead at the wheel,he had inspected the illegally parked vehicle but failed to notice the driver dead in his seat, what a [zb] muppet the warden is,a spokesman for NSL said and I quote, there was nothing to suggest that the driver was in his cab, unquote,REALLY, the poor guy was in the drivers seat dead, are these people bloody morons[actually don’t answer that as we know traffic wardens are morons] RIP to the driver

I think that your anger may stem from the fact that an unspoken fear lorry drivers have (especially trampers) is of dying during the night alone and miles from home and as such you may be projecting your fear of this onto this terrible tragedy. It’s completely understandable to imagine ourselves in the same position, but I do have to say in the traffic wardens defence that to him/her it may simply have appeared to be an unattended lorry. The driver may have slumped as he passed away, perhaps the curtains were drawn?

Regardless of the whys and wherefores it is still a terrible end to a working mans life.

RIP buddy.

I can think of much worse ways of dying, than peacefully in my sleep, or when parked up somewhere. I’ll take that anytime over a long, painful, drawn out death through some disease.

I hate traffic wardens but there is a lot of maybe s in this story
maybe he wasn’t in the truck when the warden put the ticket on
maybe he was lying in the bed
maybe the curtains were closed
maybe he was slumped over the wheel but maybe he had a Renault Maggie etc that the traffic warden couldn’t see in the window

you can be sure the sun newspaper will make it as dramatic as possible to appeal to the readers and the majority of people whom know nothing about trucks

can you imagine the shock horror that some old couple in their 50s,60,70s etc that’s reading that and think here is the driver slumped over the wheel dead and the warden writing the ticket etc , that’s exactly what the sun newspaper or any newspaper thrive on

yeah, you could be right, how many wardens look up in the cab when they print a ticket out

I agree,my father said the same, quick heart attack, lights out, poor sod ended up suffering for two years with COPD before passing away

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought traffic wardens always took pictures of vehicles they ticket, if this is correct then it seems likely that the drivers body wasn’t as visible as the gossip paper would want us to believe.

Traffic wardens try to avoid eye contact to avoid confrontation therefore possibly he didn’t even look in the cab. Even if he did it is quite possible that if visible the driver simply looked to be asleep.

They’ll stick a ticket on anything round here…

Sad news, but as usual for The Sun, I’m sure it’s big on sensationalist ■■■■■■ and thin on fact…

I had the pleasure of taking a report of assault and a public order offence from one of local traffic wardens a few years ago.

I watched the camera footage recorded from his ‘body worn’ camera… the level of abuse he was subject to from well, dressed, well spoken (potty mouth) coffin dodger would make a fishermans wife blush.

The fact was this chap phad parked in a disabled spot, no blue badge, the warden gave him 15 minutes, then put a ticket on. An hour later, he was walking past again when this fella was getting into his car. He was like a rabid dog. Middle of the day, effin and jeffin, said he had been there for 5 minutes etc…the warden was very passive and restrained, but it still led to him being pushed back several times… They have a ■■■■ job, but hats off, I probably would have decked the ■■■■.

You wouldn’t believe the grief I got when I done the job 15 years ago, I got a foul mouthed, verbal battering off a Catholic Priest after I ticketed his car, to say I was speechless was an understatement! :open_mouth: As for the Scum newspaper, being a proud scouse Liverpool fc supporter, I wouldn’t wipe my arse on that gutter rag!
