I just replied to Ice Road Truckers post as coffeeholic locked it, so i will try here…
around 6 months ago(ish) i watched an episode where the Ice road truckers went to India to do some driving. One of them jacked in as they said it was too dangerous.
I think it was part of a series, cant remember what it was called, it was a lot more interesting than the staged driving on/around the ice.
Question is: did i imagine the whole thing, (dont think i did, as im not an I.R.Truckers fan) and i havent read anywhere here anything about it…
Nope you didn’t imagine it, was aired over here under the name “Deadliest Roads” and was actually rather good.
Its available in all the usual places…
Dave and prick yemm are right muppets, all mouth and no trousers especially in that deadliest roads series, how many times did they threaten to hit the other drivers
I.R.T. Deadliest Roads
It’s terrible they go back and forth along the same road, they could have made it much better they say they are nearly going over the edge and then they show the truck from the front about 3 metres from the road’s edge

Probably just using that relatively short stretch of road for all the filming. Normal Indian drivers no doubt drove rest of the time.
May have been the only stretch they were allowed to drive on by the Indian Ministry ot Transport. Going by threads on the Oldtimers section of the forums, general consensus was that foreign trucks cant operate in India so there may have been severe restrictions placed on the IRT drivers.
