Malc, the 143 mentioned in your link was in a thousand pieces, the cab shell was sat on a frame, completely stripped and refurbed, the rest of the bits were in crates and a 20’ shipping container
it still sold for around 23 grand at the hammer
Wasnt there 2 at the auction? One white and red and then the project one which might have been blue?

the giant jigsaw was red, same colour as the rest of his fleet, don’t remember another one there
i was there at the auction and watched in total amazement as the jigsaw sold for over 20 grand
Yeah i was there too. I could have bought it for 7k before they stripped it down 2 years previous

IPH Bulk Haulage Limited registered on the 8th May 2008 and Ian as a director on the 8th of February this year.
He’s always run a nice fleet, even though recently some have began to look a bit less show worthy
The 143 in 1000 pieces with the bare cab shell and the rest of it in crates is L918 NEC which did not sell at the sale in excess of 20,000K. To me it will always be L4LBH. That’s why i could not let it go to the graveyard. It took me about 5 weeks to get it back up running and tested at kirkham, putting in a 12 speed gearbox out of a 143 ,500 top line streamline rearlift which Ian had bought for spares. (ex Millars of Randlestown N. I.). I think this was Isabel Millars own wagon, can’t remember reg. L918 NEC is now owned by S and G Plant and is in daily use. Take a look at Preston Guild 2012 photos.
This one disappeared a long time ago

Well done Lance for re building the mighty 143 also well said for putting these people right on the sale price of the mighty 143 they must have been at a different auction than the one we was at long live L4 LBH

He didn’t say much twice.
Im pretty certain the bonetted scania is still around, as one is in and out of Red Scar ind est which was where Parkinsons where based, now carries RSM fleetname or something similar, also seen it down Liverpool docks with scrap.
RSM scrap metals do run a T cab, but I think its a 420 with a standard cab, not a 580 topline.

A Classic
2 of Ian P’s are for sale at MM Acquisitions in Preston
Has anyone got any info or pics of his truck as i havn’t seen them about for ages.
thanks
dan
Funny you should say that. I met the T cab coming into Newport docks during the week pulling a scrap trailer.
All of his trucks are now on tipper work, spoke to one of his drivers a while ago and he had just come back from a racecourse in france where he had been delivering sand, Don’t know how many motor he runs now, i know he sold all his fridges a few years ago and several of his units.
