Government ‘names and shames’ minimum wage underpayers

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27751722

quote from the above link

‘‘Master Distribution Ltd, Essex, which to pay £718.62 to a worker.’’

possible?

Should be a long stream of agencies with umbrella workers on that.

There’s loads missing! Can’t name and shame though - I might be sued!

No doubt some sad individual will go marching into their home and proudly announce to their other half that they are on umbrella with an agency, as they parade around the house in their newly issued high vis waistcoat.

Fortunately forums like this exist to re-educate drivers on the errors of their ways… :grimacing:

Plenty of guys on day rate regular doing 15’s might be under minimum wage

Good luck with that, suggest a proper wage scale for normal working hours of 40 ish, and those for whom there are not enough hours in a day howl from the rooftops.
They’d much rather put in 80 hours for what 45 hours should pay, good let 'em fill their boots, those with some nous will do the other thing and have a life.

Asked why HMRC would not publish the names of the football club
or recruitment company a spokesman said: “HMRC dealt with these cases
through the civil route, so our rules on taxpayer confidentiality apply.”

What does “the civil route” mean

Do the same rules apply to companies that pay a day rate rather than hourly rate? I suspect that they pay day rate to get around the rules.
