I think i may be obsessed

Hi all… Its been a while so i thought i better post again…
Well just over 5 months in now on the class 1’s and im still loving the job
Ive been very busy as the majority of my time is spent up the road and to those that read my previous posts i decided not to go for the container work as the outfit seemed a bit on the wild west side …if you know what i mean… yee haa and stetsuns and all that…
so i stuck where i am for the now General Haulage tramping
but here is my problem ive become obsessed with wanting to drive a Daf XF (newer the better) at the moment im in a Daf CF 51 plate which is good (but underpowered at 44 Tonnes as its only a 380) But i have an unhealthy fixation on the XF now and its getting worse… It seems everywhere i look there are new or nearly new XF’s what makes it worse is that all the Gen Haulage firms near me seem to run everything but XF’s and i really dont want to travel just for the sake of a unit… Im not expecting any suggestions or solutions its just that they say admitting your problems is the first step in solving them…So im standing up and saying “my names reef and im an XFaholic”…There i feel better already… (but if you know of any decent firms in the west wales area running XFs let me know) sorry couldn’t help myself…
Well pointless post over and done with will try to post something decent soon…Take care all…Reef

well first things first glad you are likeing the job this defnitley confirms then the next part of the post,

DRIVER,s FIXATION: This is a well known illness that effects all driver,s
and unfortunatly is not cureable until a rival can be found
Method of treatment: Subject must try to curb his/her feelings when in the presence of other types of transport,as the may cause unnessercery
suffering to these competitors as they relalize thar they HAVE no chance of being so well liked, The best medication will be employment in a suitable compamy who are also so inflicted,

prognosis: a long lasting and infectious disease ,rarely cureable

well joking aside hope that you find a firm in which you may be able to drive the vehicle of your choice but still earn a decent WAGE at the end of the day,

Sorry m8 you need to get out more,

I can spy another spit and polish boy coming … :unamused:

All good things come to an end and on my new job which I start on the 19th, I have been downgraded to a 430 :o( but with a threat of possibly a new one in New Year.and it will be a 530

My truck gets me from A to B.
End of story.

and lets face it A to B is a lot better in a shiny new motor and i dont care what anyone says an employed driver would choose the new shiny one over the old dog of a motor anyday and would stomp over every other employee to get the keys without batting an eyelid

and i bet if you were offered a new motor you would take it…

LOL, I don’t do handbags…I have a Shaun The Sheep rucksack, which does the job! :grimacing:
As for caving & taking a new motor if I was offered it…I was offered one of our brand new all singing all dancing MAN’S, but despite my protests, I was told that it was mine for the taking.I started coming in a bit later than everyone elce, knowing that everyone would be begging to drive it, so by the time I got in a few minutes after everyone elce, I wouldnt have to drive it! :smiling_imp:
I m just not that keen on modern technology…I guess Im a bit of a Luddite thats stuck in her ways! :unamused:
