This is the approach from the A17 to the Hardwick roundabout in Kings Lynn. Left lane is clearly marked Kings Lynn, middle lane is A149, which is where I was going.
An elderly couple of holidy makers (she was driving) found themselves in the inside lane when they wanted the A149 . So she indicated right and moved over, into the side of my trailer. I never felt anything but saw in my mirror the car was touching my wheels.
I wasnt cutting into her lane, she admitted it was her fault saying she was confused by the markings. But I’m still ■■■■■■ off that I didnt see it coming and prevent it.
Although the next photo shows the Clio & caravan doing the same thing so it must be a common thing to be in wrong lane here & cut across.

I go down that way fairly often and you’re right, it’s a fairly common thing and on several occasions I’ve come very close to having the same accident as you.

Yes, I had a car cut me up doing the same thing and I was driving a coach which is a bit faster than a truck. Too fast for the car who thought he would cut me up.
Still go to Sutton Bridge quite a lot but I used to go right across to Gt. Yarmouth and usually encountered some prat along that stretch. On the way home once and a minibus was overtaking me just after the A47 roundabout near Swaffham (where there’s banking on either side of the road). The bus got level with my cab and then a Golf GTI decided to go past him as well!!! As we got 3 abreast the GTI lost it on the dirt as the road wasn’t wide enough and shot off to the left at 90 degrees straight up the embankment!! I briefly lost him under the windscreen and thought I’d had him but a second later he comes spinning back down and lands in the middle of the A47 again minus his windscreen. By the grace of God I managed to pull up but due to the fact I was in a left-■■■■■■ and rather enthusiastic to punch him in the face I couldn’t immeadiately locate the door handle in the heat of the moment and he managed to get his engine running again and [zb]ed off!!
It may sound like ■■■■■■■■ but it’s a 100% true…

Why not punch his lights out through his missing windscreen?!

I couldn’t immeadiately find the door handle in the truck due to all the excitement…
Had a co-pilot who can verify the story, he had the same problem but managed to get out quicker than me. He got a few feet from the guy’s car before he managed to somehow fire it up and [zb] off in to the Norfolk night…
We laugh about it now…Was a bit like something out of Only Fools & Horses or You’ve Been Framed but it could have very easily been deadly.
